My towel rack fell down and holes in the wall got bigger. Screws no longer properly fit the holes. Can I put this to the holes to fix the grip?

It depends how big the holes are, I had the same problem a few years ago. I would suggest a small amount of filler, let it harden then add more filler, slightly over-filling so that it can be sanded down to a smooth finish whan hardened; it does set quite quickly. If the wall is plasterboard make sure you use special plasterboard wall-plugs. Hope this is helpful.

will this filler be ok to fill a hole from an old plug socket?

not really if its a 3x3 or 6x3 socket then first use sand/cement then go on top when set with the filler that should work

Yes Jon it does, I always put back the plastic cover or cling film, keep the lid on nice and tight and it will be fine. The best filler I've used to be honest, hope this helps.
