It does work!
We placed it in our garage and so far so good, no more signs of unwanted guests! We have similar devices in our loft and find them very effective. Far better than traps or poison.

Works. Keep in main mouse visiting / entering area. No impact on powerline ethernet performance. Also setting for spiders.
This works! We have had the device for nine weeks now. Mice vanished from sight immediately. Bait has remained untouched. The user manual mentioned that baby mice will only leave their nest once they're ready to move. We did hear some baby mice squeals from under the floorboards for about a week and nothing since then. I can confirm the manual's advice to put the device in the room where mice are most likely to enter / visit. After a few mouse-free weeks with the device plugged in a socket in our open-plan ground floor, I tested the device plugged into a socket in the utility cupboard (also ground floor) to save an accessible socket in the main living space. Result: mouse sighting within a day. It appears that the audible (for mice) high frequency sound is more important than the electromagnetic pulses the device sends through the house's electricity wiring. Perhaps useful for some: the device also has a sound frequency aimed at spiders and insects. You need to choose between the rodent sound frequency and the spider frequency. That said, we have seen a decline in spiders as well, but that may be a seasonal thing. (Got this mid-October in an unusually active spider season.) We also use ethernet powerline adapters (all TP-LINK) throughout the house and have - through our usage, not measurement - not noticed any impact on internet performance or connectivity from the electromagnetic pulses. The device is plugged into the wall right next to the powerline adapter with the inbound LAN cable from the router.

Misleading description
This pest repeller is advertised on the basis that it will protect a 4 bed house. We have a problem with mice or, most likely, rats scurrying within the wall cavities and loft areas within the house, i.e. behind solid walls and ceilings. Being a terraced house with interconnecting cavities and lofts, the rodents have spread to adjacent properties. The instructions acknowledge that the ultrasound function, the only feature of this device which has any, albeit limited, credibility, will only be effective if it is located in the same room as the pest, it wont travel through solid objects. Rodents will remain comfortable behind their ultrasound proofed, inaccessible to humans, living quarters. So no full house cover here then. The electro-magnetic interference feature is scientifically regarded as being highly unlikely to be effective, and remains unproven in any properly conducted field tests. The instructions note that the manufacturers believe that the elector magnetic waves in the house wiring (providing they are within 3 feet of the wires) creates an environment which prevents rodents nesting and drives them out of the house. I have no intention of leaving my uninvited visitors to enjoy the peace and quiet of my home, setting up their own love nests within its walls and free to breed outside the 3 foot electro-magnetic exclusion zone. I will try and find out how they've got into the house, order a pack of rat traps and poison to exterminate them and make sure there are no unprotected areas of the house where they could get in again. Currently, inspection has revealed that the most likely way they got in was through a worn and damaged redundant sewage pipe beneath the house, unused since our kitchen was extended more than 25 years ago. I have returned the pest repeller, which was not a good idea, and put the refund towards paying for the pipe to be repaired.

Appears to work in our case, but on the basis of fairly limited evidence.
It is hard to be sure about the efficacy of this product but it seems to be working in our case. We started to hear intermittent evidence of a visitor (light scratching from under the floorboards in the living room for about five to ten minutes each time) a week or so after moving into our new home recently. On the third occasion we decided we needed to investigate pest control. After purchasing this product, the scratching ceased for a few days. However, we could hear the whine the device emitted very clearly and it proved too intrusive for our liking. Primrose customer support indicated this sounded like a faulty unit so we returned it to Amazon for a replacement. In the few days between switching off the noisy unit and installing the replacement (same model, but it has been much quieter) the scratching returned (same location). After installing the replacement unit we have only heard evidence of a visitor once; this time above the living room ceiling (instead of below the floor boards) and the nose was movement rather than scratching. Also it only lasted a minute or two instead of five-to-ten minutes. Evidence that it works: At least four visits in a handful of days while the device wasn't operating. Scratching in same location with no apparent urgency to move on. Evidence that it doesn't work: One visit in over a month while the device has been operating. However, this was in a slightly different location (above rather than below the living room), was much briefer than previous visits, and was the sound of 'frantic' movement rather than casual nibbling. It is difficult to confirm that the deterrent has any particular effect due to the limited window in which it has been tested. Our problem was hardly an extensive infestation to start with (just occasional evidence of a single rodent) and the reduction in visits could conceivably be coincidental. However, evidence from the past two months appears to indicate that it does have at least some kind of deterrent effect in our particular circumstances. I will try and update the review if this subsequently transpires not to be the case.
