Great colours, working time and easy cleanup
Recently bought a Gel media plate to have a go at monoprinting. But frustrated at results using regular acrylics. These inks are a far superior alternative. Nice, sticky and vibrant. Mix well to create any colour you choose and stay workable for a better time than acrylics. Great for stamping and monoprinting. Cleanup is really easy with water too. Used foam stamps for fish carved with a biro and still got reasonable results. Waiting for lino to arrive now I know how good they are. Only minor downside is final print is not permanent. Get it wet and its gone but look after your prints and there's no issue. Oh they're really reasonably priced at the moment compared to other similar products. What's not to like.

Happy with the product, but it has its drawbacks
I bought the water based inks, not the oil ones, because I wanted the faster drying time, and I was prepared to leverage that against the quality finish. They're pretty good. I tried them on a variety of papers, as paper has just as much of an effect on the outcome as the ink, and these work really well on marker pen paper (high clay content). You get a clean print that doesn't look too smudgy or stippled, and the paper, despite being thin, doesn't wrinkle. They're not brilliant for reduced linocuts, due to the general stippling nature of the ink leaving some blotches. You have to really slap the ink on to cover them up. But they're good for single colour designs. The colours mix well together, although I would argue that you should buy a separate bright green colour if you want it, because the yellow, blue, black and white mix to form quite sickly shades. Purple, brown, orange and grey are fine, it's just green that I struggle with using this set. The colours do dry quickly. You can add your second layer after a day if you're doing a reduced cut. The reason why the product loses a star for me is not because of the colour mixing or the stipple texture, it's because the dried product feels powdery, and if you rub it just a little bit, it leaves a residue on your fingers. Dead easy to clean up though, and it means you can ink up, print, and clean up within the space of a few minutes. Much easier than dealing with oil bases.
