Health benefits are great
I'm happy with this product. I take 6 teaspoons and dissolve in 2 cups of boiling water (it does require mixing with a hand whisker). I let it infuse for a minimum of 8 hours (as you would for any bark herbs) before I start drinking it - a thick mixture is formed (Id say a little thicker than the consistency of water but not as thick as porridge) and this I drink over two days. The texture and taste really is not great but its not horrid and does not make me gag! The taste, like someone else said, is earthy. Overall its not the best herbal tea I have made but it's health benefits is what keeps me drinking it.

Studies are showing it's great for intestinal healing but it doesn't taste great! lol
I have been using Indigo Herbs Slippery Elm Powder to make tea, and to be honest, the taste and smell aren't that great, but I'm willing to overlook that because of the potential benefits it offers.Scientific research suggests that slippery elms can be great for the intestinal tract and aid in the healing process. This is one of the reasons I decided to give this product a try.Slippery elm has been used for various purposes throughout history. It has been used by Native Americans for its soothing properties and to relieve coughs and sore throats. It has also been used topically to treat skin conditions.Personally, I have been using this slippery elm powder to see if it would help with my bile acid malabsorption condition. Unfortunately, I haven't noticed any significant changes yet and the taste is earthy and leaves a lot to be desired....just chug it down and get it over and done with! Lol

This product has changed for the worse!! DISGUSTING!
Initial review: The doctor initially prescribed Lansoprazole for GERD but on week two I started experiencing terrible headaches so stopped and thought I'd give Slippery Elm a shot. And my goodness what an absolute miracle it is. My symptoms have abated and there are days where I don't even have to take the Slippery Elm (I take a teaspoon a day). I was somewhat apprehensive due to the negative comments about lumpy mixtures etc but there's a knack to it. You need to initially mix your Slippery Elm with a taste of either cold water or cold milk (I also add a tsp of honey to the powder first) and when you add the hot water don't add it straight from boil. Wait for the boil to settle, about 15 seconds and then pour it in a bit at a time, all the while mixing it. It should be still liquid when you're done. Let it sit for a minute or two and it thickens up into a nice gloopy consistency. Enjoy!CURRENT REVIEW: I don't know what you have done to make this product disgusting but whatever it is, DON'T! I've just tried a cup of it and it's grainy like sand. I'm so annoyed because this worked a treat every time I got it before. And with a flare up I was looking forward to the relief I'd get from it only to find you have changed it with no mucilage at all. Why do producers do that? If it's not broken don't fix it.

Give the Slippery Elm time to work.
Extremely well packaged, take's a bit of time to get used to the smell if you are going to have it in a drink. I now put mine on my Porage Oats at whatever time of day I have them. It is difficult to give my opinion as to how well Slippery Elm works. I will update further down the line.

Expensive, dubious effectiveness
My family member rates it but I haven't seen an improvement yet so withholding my verdict until then. For the price you would think it would be more effective.

Good
I’m suffering from acid reflux and I was advised to take this product. I can’t compare it to the same product from another provider but it seems ok. I like the video how to mix it with water, however I would like some more directions either on the description of the product or on the packaging. Can you use hot water and when is best to take it, before or after meals?
