Southern Foam2 Inch Double Memory Foam Mattress Topper

I eagerly opened the door to my new student bedroom, excited to see how everything was. As soon as I even sat on the bed I could tell it wasn't going to be good. It was rock hard and had random sharp bits sticking out from it. I didn't really expect the landlord to care much about me getting a new mattress, so I took matters into my own hands.I actually stumbled upon this after a few friends of mine had bought the 3" version of this product. They told me not to bother with 3" as they thought it was almost pointlessly think and that they thought 2" would easily be enough. I took the punt and purchased this. It comes all rolled up and a massive blue sack. It's fairly weighty but it well wrapped in. It was easy enough to open and once laid out on the bed, it soon takes they shape of a bed, rather than a giant sausage. Please bare in mind that it is pretty much a sponge, so it does smell a bit 'spongy' for a few days, which isn't too repulsive and it also fades in a couple of days.I have had great nights sleeps every night since with this mattress. I find it incredibly comfy. It really can transform a whole bed into something else. I will however say, it does make the bed incredible soft. So if you prefer a harder mattress, I wouldn't suggest opting for this! The other thing is that you can almost sink into it a little which at times makes me a little hot.Other than that, it does a great job. Cheap and comfy. Exactly the two works I like to hear when I'm buying a mattress topper.Very much recommended!

Good bit of foam. Definitely hand cut; one end definitely a bit wider than the other, but it's within forgivable margins.Definitely made my bare springy mattress much easier to lie across, the spongy foam adapts to my shape well.BUYERS NOTE:This topper will most likely smell quite strongly when it arrives. This is apparently common with toppers. Guides recommend baking soda solution and airing it out for a day to clear the smell. I did not do this: the smell has mostly cleared on its own after a few days though.ALSO: this topper will retain a lot of body heat. This has led to some uncomfortable nights trying to stay cool as it warms up rather quickly under my body. Be prepared for some potential difficulty staying cool without proper room temperature regulation. With as warm a summer as this has been, I legitimately have to consider removing the topper from my mattress until everything cools down again.

Exactly as described and arrived on time

I ordered this topper a couple weeks ago. I was unsure about buying it initially due to some of the negative comments but the overall positive comments and low price encouraged me to take the risk.I am very please with the quality of the sleep I’ve had with it.A few key points based on previous reviews:1) It doesn’t come with a cover but I knew that before buying it as it tells you in the product description but it fits nicely under a mattress protector with the mattress.2) the smell, the manufacture warns about the smell in the leaflet that comes with the topper and that fades. It smells strongly of new plastic.3) the size, again the manufacturer warns that it will initially appear smaller due to it being rolled up for packaging but if you give it a few hours it expands to it’s described size.So overall if you are looking for a mattress topper to increase comfort and improve sleep quality, for a good price, I would recommend!

This was just the ticket, I imagined it'd be as soft as falling into a box of Andrex Puppies but no, it's quite firm. The memory topping on my ancient mattress had given up the ghost so I purchased this to rejuvinate said mattress - It may be firmer than I envisioned but it's LOVELY. It's soft, forgiving, squishy and so simple: Just get it out of the bag, let it expand for a few hours into its natiral shape, stick it on your rubbish old mattress, stick a fitted sheet on it and then float off to dreamworld! Had it for many weeks now and just loving it.

Initial review: (shortly after delivery and before the first nights sleep)It's a bit awkward to cut out of it's packaging, but it is well packed and completely clean on arrival.Just like others have reported there is a slight chemical smell to the foam when first opened but nothing I'd describe as overpowering.At first I thought wow this foam is going to be to small for a double bed, and when I first lay it on top my thoughts were confirmed right.But never fear after leaving the foam just sit for an hour or so, it had used it's memory and expanded to just the right size that chemical smell had died down a bit by then too.This mattress topper was purchased to stop the feel of the springs in my mattress as the padding in it had quickly become pointless.So I was torn on purchasing either the 2" or 3" version, and in the end went for the cheaper option of 2", and so so far I can't complain.The foam has completely changed the feel of the bed and I can no longer feel any springs anywhere no matter how hard I try, I think the 3" foam would have been overkill to be honest as I'm not a light guy at 17 stone I've got the weight to flatten this stuff, but it's done the job that I wanted/needed.Admittedly I haven't yet slept on this stuff so things may change and I'll update this review with a first nights sleep and a few months down the line review.
