Gold Waving Lucky Fortune Cat Maneki (6")

Just received my cat and it's lovely. Apart from the arm bangs against the body and it's too loud and too jarring to leave it like that. I realised it's because the battery is new and is giving too much power. So I've just taken it out and swapped it with a battery out of the TV remote and it's waving like a dream and almost completely silent! So if yours is noisy, take a battery from something already in use and it should be fine. See video (the hissing is outside noise through the open window).

This Maneki Neko was bought to replace an earlier incarnation which did not wave its paw correctly. Sadly my wife threw the original cat in the bin. This one is much better, larger, and hopefully luckier. It has a smooth paw waving action producing negligible noise (about the same level of sound as the ticking of a wall clock). Construction is good for an item of this price and the battery compartment has a cover (unlike some other cats).

I like superstitious things that might bring in good fortunes and good vibes to my environment. Plus the nostalgia of seeing this waving cat in restaurants always brings me joy when I was a kid. The actual product itself was as advertised and the price was fair, just need to add some batteries. I thought it was defective as the arm didn't wave instantly, but really it was just stuck in a bit and I just needed to help it wave in the beginning, Now the lil golden guy should hopefully keep waving for all eternity. Praying for those greens to come my way lil dude.

It's VERY gold ! Works away quietly doing what it does and no disasters since it replaced our old dead one . All fine - reccomended . A postcode lottery gift , just arrived , does that count ?

Now I'm not one for believing in Luck, but I originally bought this as a souvenir. I was a little disappointed with the quality with this product, it doesnt seem very robust/durable. So droping it would not be a good idea for both the product or your luck. There is a clicking noise which occurs when the paw moves, but this can start and stop at its own accord. As far as brining luck, well I havnt experienced it as of yet perhaps if I win the lottery then I will be convinced that this is lucky. The Cat takes 1 AA battery at the bottom of it. This product does not come with anything to hide the battery considering its at the bottom and would be hidden anyway. The paw can stop moving on occasions which can be annoying. The cat isnt that big either, probably the size of a an average TV remote control in length ways with I was to describe it. For its price I think it is reasonable, but perhaps could be better priced at 4 pounds to match the quality and the size of it, The packaging is OK, and the cat doesn't come with scrolls or batteries, so you will need to provide those. You simply get a small box with a plastic cat inside which is made to look gold, I may update this review to let you know on my Luck by until then, this product is good if you want something to sit on your windowsill or somewhere as a souvenir, it is a little expensive considering the quality, but probably worth the purchase if you like these sort of things. Bought as a gift which unfortunately meant I have passed the refund window - opened today on their birthday arm fell off coming out of box, inside half falling out the bottom and battery doesn’t do anything so would work anyway! Very disappointing

Ce "maneko niki" était destiné comme cadeau à mon fils amateur de Groland ! Il est exactement semblable à celui que l'on voit dans le générique de l'émission. Contrairement à ce que j'ai pu lire, celui que j'ai reçu n'a pas de défaut d'aspect et fonctionne parfaitement. Seul bémol, je n'ai pas trouvé comment on peut arrêter le mouvement du bras en dehors de débrancher la pile ! En fait ça ne fait rien car il consomme peu et est en mouvements depuis plusieurs semaines... Question emballage et délai, Amazon est toujours irréprochable Je recommande donc et vais surement en commander d'autres pour offrir aux invités du mariage de ma nièce !

Bought this as a gift for my girl friend. Box was a little beat up but it was in good shape when I got it. Awesome.
