Amazing quality for money
Great product, design is simplistic and clean line. You can purchase addition clamps to make this product airtight. Great quality glass, slight green(glass) tint to it. Love this product.

Excellent quality jars for all purposes
I bought these jars primarily for lacto-fermenting at home. I have been using them almost a year and regularly make sauerkraut in them. They’re sturdy, cope with the dishwasher well and are ideal for fitting your hand inside to squish your sauerkraut down. Thanks to the above reviewer, I bought the 80mm Weck lids to use as weights and they’re perfect. When using the orange seals and two clips, the jars maintain a seal, even when under pressure. I do burp the jars regularly, just in case.I also use them for our kefir, both when fermenting and whilst in the fridge and as a storage jar for our sourdough starter. They’re a great all-rounder jar and are very aesthetically pleasing in the kitchen.

Excellent for fermenting
Nowadays I do all my fermenting in these good quality Weck jars. They work because they're airtight but allow carbon dioxide to escape when pressure builds up inside the jar during fermentation.I really like the size and shape of them - as a female with medium-sized hands, I can get my whole fist into the jar to tamp the contents down as I'm filling it. The rubber seals and clips need to be bought separately with this listing and I like the fact that they can be bought separately - I've used a different brand of jars with rubber seals and clips in the past where the metal clips rusted after being splashed with brine - however replacements couldn't be bought without buying a whole new jar! (None of my Weck clips have rusted yet so it's possible that won't even be a problem with this brand.)The sauerkraut I've made in these jars has always been perfect, as have most of my other ferments. I've occasionally had a failure with different, less active ferments but on reflection I think that was probably down to leaving too much headroom (which can cause problems whatever type of vessel you use). (I probably left a little too much headroom in the batch of fermented celery pictured though that one turned out successfully - I find celery to be quite an active ferment.)I use the smaller 80mm size Weck glass lids (available separately) as fermenting weights.

Use for fermenting, sourdough starter & in yoghurt maker instead of plastic
Have small & large wecks. Useful for storage, in yoghurt maker instead of plastic pot, fermenting ( these lids are 100. The lids from smaller size 80 fit this size nicely as a fermenting weight) & they just look nice with good design.

Perfect
Was exactly what I was looking for great jars and came with lids.No seals or clips but they were not listed so wasn’t expecting them and for the price cannot be beaten.

High Quality
Really useful, high quality jars. You need to buy the rubber seal and clips separately. They look beautiful too.

Great buy
I really like them, have two currently for sourdough starters! they’re so simple there’s nothing to hate! for nearly £4 a jar, it’s well worth!

Absolutely lovely product.
I use them for sourdough leavening agent, and they serve their purpose absolutely fine. Very easy to wash and clean.Of course they would be perfect for lot of other use cases, but I haven't used it for anything else as yet.
