Used to be wonderful, now not so much...
I have bought four of these over the past seven years - sadly they are now not the quality that they used to be The first two were marvellous. A lovely white light shone through the purple onto the ceiling and showed a beautiful scene of stars and the moon and a few planets - it was beautiful - clear and bright enough but not too bright to disturb their sleep. The light then went off after 30 minutes which was perfect. The ones that I have bought more recently have been much cheaper - brittle plastic and the light did not shine clearly. The light has been a continuous rainbow colour which is far too psychedelic-disco and not a calming-soothing-night-time night-light and the light has stayed on all night, which is also not ideal. Like another reviewer has written, you can actually buy the original one from sensory direct. Please Amazon can you find your original supplier again and check the lights because you are not selling what is in the description!

My three-year-old loves it
Great value for money. The projection is bright enough (at night) and the images are reasonably sharp even when the unit is a couple of metres away from the wall or ceiling that you're projecting onto.Would be better if the angle of projection could be adjusted in situ: to get the best image it would have to be placed in the centre of a room on a shelf or piece of furniture. However, it does not claim to rotate (etc) and for the price, I wouldn't expect it to be all-singing, all-dancing.One star removed because my son wakes at night and likes to see it the stars; I think, despite the cheap price, you should be able to switch it on permanently, bypassing the timer.Overall, great product.

Looks good and grandsons loved it.
This looks good and is quite sturdy but the light from it (stars and moon) are not very bright - the room needs to be completely black to really see them properly. I think it is a bit overpriced for what it is - However my grandsons loved it and that is what matters.

Cheap & cheerful
Not the best, but not the worst. It does the job and as its good value for money so its great!. It has good clear lights and visuals and its lightweight so can use everywhere. Tipee's tents etc..

Cheap and cheerful. Does what it says on the tin. Kids love it!
This is our second one of these star lights. This is a cheap and cheerful product which does what it says on the tin. It is also more robust than it feels. We broke the first by dropping something heavy on it otherwise I think it would have carried on forever. Takes 4 AA batteries and switches itself off after 20 mins or so. We take it away with us so kids have something familiar in the dark in a new place. Take one battery out for travelling so you don’t waste batteries in a fully packed bag!

Fabulous little night light!
Just got this today. Bought for my son who has autism and sometimes has difficulty with sleep. initially I did feel a bit disappointed because it felt very light weight and flimsy but... This is actually a good thing because it is designed to be hung from the wall, so it shouldn't be too heavy, if it were to fall (this product is meant for a child's bedroom) there's no electrical wires either. My little boy loved it, he fell asleep with it as his night light and I expected to have to switch it off when I came to bed, however when I checked on him the light was off and I thought he'd turned it off or the batteries had failed but that's when I discovered it has a timer! Fabulous little light! I love it when you buy something that actually turns out to be better than you thought!

Absolutely brilliant for a 2 year old.
I bought this as one of a number of similar items to test on my 2.5 year old boy. He was getting a little grouchy when being put down for bed so we were looking to test a little distraction. This is wonderful. If anything it worked too well and when the built in 30 minute timer knocked it off he started shouting! Lesson learned. We explained the next night that stars would come on one time only and when they "went to sleep" it was time for him to go to sleep too.It worked like an absolute charm. Now bedtime is looking forward to stars and the soft blue light, along with some glow in the dark sticky stars for his ceiling, turns his dark room into a little calm and peaceful oasis. I would nearly consider sleeping in there myself :)
