I have long curly and very thick hair, it works great for me :)

How quickly does it heat up to be used?

Longer than GHD's. I'd say about 2 mins.

Is this suitable for thin frizzy hair?

Yes it is, but before drying use a straightening spray such as John Frieda and then use brush after it’s completely dry. You need to spend a little time,but it’s worth it.
