Tough and plenty of room
Very sturdy. I had the original which was slightly larger on width but the same size in length and height. The old one lasted many years and traveled all over the world. The only issue was the expander zipper would not close and the wheels started to wear down. The new one seems as well built, the lock is now at the top versus side which is nice and the handle is improved with a full rubber cover. It has just finished it's second trip and no problem. The case is made of material that is tough and can take a beating. I have not seen any major issues with scratches, though I had the black and now the silver color. Each set of wheels are tilted in on the new one which seems to provide a smoother ride. Time will tell if it will hold up as well but so far so good. One issue people may run into is the handle is wide which may prevent hanging bags on that have straps to go over the handles. A back pack is tight but fits around the handle.

Light, solid, stable, fits under NY Subway turnstiles
Purchased 2 of these (Samsonite Stryde Hardside Glider Medium Journey, Blue Slate) as my 1st "hardshell" bags for international travel. This review is written after 9 months and 3 international trips Part of the attraction being that they are quite distinctive and easily recognized on the carousel. Despite their unusual dimensions they still fit a full height 3 part tripod diagonally though you need to take the head off and you can easily fit the full 50 pounds of luggage allowance while the dimensions suit all American carriers (and all international ones I know of) In use they have proved reliable, easy to maneuver and fairly tough (1 corner of 1 bag did get knocked in but a push from the inside restored it) and very very stable (presumably due to how low to the ground they are) Just remember which way is "up" so you don't dump the contents out when you open it. As an added bonus, they roll under the turnstiles for the MTA (NY city) subway and PATH - though they roll so well so need to be careful they don't get away from you when you do that. Can also be used to transport rack mounted gear so long as it is not more than 40cm (1' 4") deep or higher than 4U Overall very happy with them. They are not 'run over it with a truck' strong (just 'good for baggage handler' strong but that is the tradeoff you must pay for the lighter weight

Love this style Samsonite.
I bought my first of this series with the goal of minimizing the appearance of wear over time and optimizing the capacity. It fit the bill, I cannot detect any obvious abrasions or imperfections after several years. So I bought another one. Defintiely light weight when empty, but securely holds 50 lbs with integrated TSA locks. The wheels perform well even on irregular surfaces. I look forward to not being embarrassed by the appearance of my luggage while I am waiting for it to fail mechanically.

Great luggage 5 stars
We travel and use our luggage quite a bit. Had our last set for 5 years. I looked at a lot of different luggage on the internet and in person. This luggage is great. The "square" shape is unique and is a real plus. It fits easy in the car and everywhere else. It is easily identifiable at the airport. The luggage is durable, made well, the wheels roll perfectly. The inside and the various compartments were the final selling point for me. I found no interior in any other luggage as luxurious as this. The only negative is the zippers. I noticed some brands have these easy slide zippers and this does not. These are not so smooth. Lots more positives than this only negative. I purchased 2 large, 2 medium, and one of the small carry on size. Another plus is it's Moderate price. You will not find anything better. You will be very happy with this purchase.

Great all-arounder
I have the medium checked luggage in the slate blue colour. If I could give this 4.5 stars I would. On the plus side, it's a great size. You can pack plenty for a week (or longer if you pack light for a hot climate) with room leftover for any travel shopping - especially thanks to the expandable capabilities. Yet it's not too big to easily lift or manoeuvre in and out of trunks or up stairs. The unique shape and texture also makes it easy to spot my luggage on airport carousels and the various pockets and dividers are a godsend for storing and organising toiletries, dirty clothes and sundries. The reason I can't give it 5 stars, however, is that the exterior does show wear quite quickly. It's doesn't look totally damaged but given one of the selling points was the design minimises wear it's a bit of let down. Given I'm not that vain about the aesthetic, the bigger problem is when the handle is extended, because it's so long (compared to more portrait-shaped luggage), it can sometimes feel like you're putting strain on it when moving it around as it wobbles back and forth more than the handles on my other luggage, especially on surfaces that aren't 100 smooth. It makes me somewhat concerned about the longevity of it. But, so far it's survived 5 international return flights and being rolled across carpet, asphalt, tiles and gravel. Overall, I'm very pleased with the purchase. It's been a welcome companion on longer business trips.

Really steady & rolls well!
I bought this a while back and just used it this week for a trip. I loved how it rolled well over everything and it never tipped at all. Two things to note: 1. The handle was too wide to slip my backpack strap over. 2. The way it opens like a clamshell can make it hard to layout in cramped quarters. Neither of these was a deal breaker for me- and I’ll likely be buying another!

Easy to maneuver, lightweight, looks really nice!
We needed an actual square suitcase for a specific trip and found this one. Turns out - square is VERY hard to find. This is perfect, and as a bonus, it's a really nice suitcase. Got the teal, very pretty. Super easy to move around. Lightweight, with a great interior system. Comes with X-straps which work well, and a detachable packing cube. Just great in every way!

A voir à l’usage à l’aéroport mais ravie de trouver une valise de qualité, design, bien ergonomique, la forme permet de mettre une petite valise ou sac dessus pour plus d’aisance dans aéroports, gares.

Quality is very nice truly rigid durable finish looks premium ,not something found with all their cases . along with quality wheels handles zips etc A bit of research told me a Brompton would fit in this case and technically their right but only just , with some considerable force and damage to the case itself . I can’t exaggerate how tight it is . I was absolutely certain initially it wouldn’t fit to this day I’m not sure how I got the seat post in. It got my bike from London to Japan but after six weeks and several international detours it was visibly bulging and literally bursting at the zips So I would absolutely recommend it as a suitcase but it’s not a viable longterm solution for transporting a Brompton internationally discretely
