Murine Advanced Dry Eye Relief Eye Drops

This is equally as good - no, actually, I shall admit it, it's better than - the VisuXL drops I've so evangelically reviewed on here. The trouble is, of course, after awhile all medicines used daily begin to lose their exceptional effectiveness; in this case becoming sticky and cloying. So I tried Murine drops because they were on a special price, 50% cheaper than VisuXL. AND I was immensely pleased and relieved to find Murine just as good and even better. They're thinner, less sticky and much more immediately refreshing than any other drops I've tried, very cooling and soothing. And as long as you are careful not to use them more than 2 or 3 times a day, they bear daily use for an extended period - I've been using them for about 6 months now most successfully, alongside VitaPOS eye ointment at night. If you have SEVERE dry eye syndrome like me please try these drops and VitaPOS ointment at night before bed: it makes life with very dry eyes bearable :)

These eye drops are without preservative so better for my eyes, which get dry during the day. However, the hole out of which the drops are dispensed is too small so that makes it very hard to get the drops out, especially after using the bottle for a while. I had to sterilize a pin to insert it into the hole to make it bigger, but even then by the time I got to near the end of the bottle the hole seized up again. Maybe it's something in the drops themselves which causes this, but I never came across anything like that in other bottles (not Murine) of eye drops.

Works well for medication induced dry eyes. No preservatives - which can cause dryness if used for long periods. If used three times a day it'll run out before it needs throwing out.

I have been using Murine products for 60 years and am a great advocate. Not as effective as I hopes this might be. Stings a little. A bit disappointed, therefore.

I used to suffer terribly from many of the common symptoms of dry eye syndrome, (ultimately caused by multiple prescription medications for unrelated chronic health issues). Thankfully, these Murine Professional Advanced eye drops have made a significant difference. The problems are gone for the most part & nothing else I've tried is anywhere near as effective. My eyes were constantly itchy, watery, & highly irritated. In turn, they were chronically fatigued which caused annoying blurred vision & problems focusing. I also suffered from excessive eye discharge which caused large sharp clumps of sleep to form in & around my eyes, increasing irritation further still, & it was quite painful at times. The bottle isn't the most convenient to use & these drops are very pricey indeed when compared to other products I've tried. However, some of that cost is offset as I don't need to use these drops anywhere near as frequently as those other products. (In general one drop per eye, twice per day is sufficient to keep all of the problems at bay). These drops are definitely THE best I've tried from well over a dozen alternatives, (including other products from Murine's own range). I've been using these eye drops for 7-8 months & I'm very happy with them, without a doubt things have been vastly improved. I still have to use them daily or the problems quickly return. Importantly, these eye drops also last for 90 days once opened which is incredible considering they don't contain any preservatives, (I'm assuming that the built in filtration system has a part to play there). Most of the other products I've tried have a maximum life of 45 days once they've been opened & they've all contained preservatives. Over time I've tried multiple over the counter eye drops, most of which contained Hypromellose &/or various preservatives. Ultimately, solving this problem came down to the specific ingredients. Many of the drops I tried helped in part but none of them FULLY dealt with the problems. Additionally, when using Hypromellose based drops my eyes became INTENSELY SENSITIVE to light especially upon awakening from sleep, it was absolutely awful!! None of the other products cleared up the excessive eye discharge either. After researching the problem further Hypromellose based eye drops &/or certain preservatives seemed to be a common factor which lead me to this product. The relief was literally instantaneous from these drops for the irritation & within 48 hours the other symptoms had cleared up entirely as well. (I still seem to suffer from occasional flare ups even whilst using these drops daily, however, I just temporarily increase the frequency of use & the problems quickly subside again). On average, I'm going through a bottle every 4-6 weeks & I've stopped using any other products. Supplied in full retail packaging which includes a comprehensive leaflet outlining product usage & details. Best before dates are printed on both the packaging & the bottle. The bottles also have an anti-tamper seal on the caps. Every bottle I've received has had a minimum 18 month shelf life. Excellent relief from a list of symptoms & these drops last an exceptional 3 months once opened. Whilst very pricey, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these eye drops at all & I shall be continuing to use them for as long as required. 5/5.

This is good for dry eyes. As good as any product on the market.

Probably the best solution for dry eyes I have used to date, but the product is let down by a very poorly designed bottle... It has a very short nozzle and the bottle requires far too much pressure to extract a droplet. I probably waste as much as I actually get into my eyes! I am fit and able, but for someone who has a disabilty this could be an even greater issue. Please redesign the bottle!
