As someone who had many a tradition at Christmas when I was young, I wanted to introduce something new to my own children - que elf on a shelf! The item comes in a lovely presentation box which opens out, with the story (illustrated lovely, quality book) slipped into the left hand side and your own elf on the shelf sat behind a window on the right. We purchased 'An Elf Story: The Elf on the Shelf' DVD to accompany the product. This in my opinion is a must for younger children as it tells the story of how your elf comes to your home and why.... The dvd is also only 20 minutes long (it's become a firm favourite)! We've been watching the dvd in anticipation of the arrival of our elf on 1st Dec and can't wait to see the mischief he will cause (see Pinterest for great, if not hilarious Elf ideas). Would recommend to anyone looking for a family tradition at Christmas.

Bought for my son who is sooooo in love with idea of magical elves. This product did not disappoint. Its really good quality, the story book is a fabulous addition and helps shape the rules (without it being a parent restriction, such as the 'no touching or it'll lose its powers' rule. I honestly think he's more excited about this elf than the 'big fella in red' 😁 Absolute value for your money. Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄

Authentic and the original... unlike the cheaper ones on the market. my only issue is with the fact I assumed the elf would have been wired so as to bend and position him with more ease. its great but I feel overpriced for what you get. that said the box book and elf are indeed excellent quality so its a classic case of you get what you pay for so I suppose the overpriced comment is redundant really so ignore that. . as my daughter isn't allowed to touch it..(due to it losing its magic). It will be safe to put in my own wires and attach velcro for when he comes out of his box next year. this enabling me to position him better.

We won a competition to win a elf on the shelf but it didn’t come until the second week of December so was a little late to use over Christmas which my little girl was a bit upset over. To cheer her up it was her birthday in January so the elf made a birthday appearance with a special gift of slime bears - it cheered her up so much. This is the prefect set it comes in a well presented gift box with a birthday book (great read) and a really cute birthday outfit for the elf (cupcake outfit with a hat) it’s made really well and at a bargain price. My other children have said they would like the elf to come out on everyone’s birthday but the question is - is he going to be a good elf or a naughty elf?

I purchased this last year for my daughter and her partner. I usually get them a joint pressie to open on Christmas decoration day and thought this might be a bit of a different pressie for them. I also bought some bits and pieces to get them started. I had to return the original elf as I'd ordered a boy but a girl was delivered however, the process was really quick and easy. Thank you Amazon. To be honest, I do think the product itself is overpriced, but have given 4 stars for the fun element.

The book is a little unusual in that it really is just to explain the concept of the Elf visiting and reporting to Santa etc. There isn't really a story to be told as such in the book but it is nicely written with rhyming sentences and pictures to keep it entertaining. Our daughter requested the book for several bedtime reads in the run up to Christmas which makes it a hit (considering all of the other choices in the bookcase). The Elf toy is a little disappointing as it feels a little cheap and I was hoping it might have posable limbs that would make it easier to locate in fun and unusual places. Overall a recommended buy, you could of course just buy a toy Elf and explain the concept but I think the book makes this easier (especially if the concept is somewhat new to you).

A must buy for children at Christmas time. Bought one last year for my son who was 6 at the time and he loved it. This year he's not counting down the days till Christmas Day He is counting down the days until his elf comes back. Great fun having your child find there elf in a new position every day. The excitement it brings them is magical. Bought one for my nephews Christmas this year and can't wait to see what antics his elf gets into. The book is great as it tells the story of why the elf is there. Comes in good quality packaging.

This is a lovely item. We got it so as to have a bit of fun on the lead up to Christmas and, to "motivate" the kids to be on best behavior all the time. Well, what can I say. The kids just love it - first thing every morning they run downstairs to see what mischief he has gotten up to. If they are misbehaving, we just remind them that the elf is here and they (generally) revert back to their well-behaved selves. The story that comes with it is a nice read. The hardest thing is thinking what to do each evening with the elf - but, as the kids are small, pretty much anything entertains them.

Meraviglioso. Ogni bimbo dovrebbe averne uno. Lo stupore alla mattina negli occhi dei bimbi quando lo trovano in un posto diverso è impagabile. Divertente la sera per i genitori spostarlo nei posti più strani. L’elfo rende il Natale ancora più magico. Di anno in anno i bimbi aspettano il giorno in cui gli elfi torneranno. Stupendi i racconti che continuano per tutto il giorno sul ritrovamento dopo la notte.

I had no idea this existed. My 9 year old kept saying she wanted to invite her elves (yes, we have two- a girl and a boy) to her birthday party. Sure enough I found this product on Amazon. The price was good so I ordered it and it arrived 2 days later with Prime shipping. We read the book together to figure out what we needed to do to invite the elves and what to expect when they arrived for her birthday. I was able to go to the Elf on the Shelf website and send an invitation to the elves for Santa to approve. I was so relieved to just do it online. The elf (elves in my case) only come for one day, just the birthday, but they arrived on a chair which they decorate. I went to the dollar store and bought a balloon and some other decorations for the chair (see my picture). I split the little cupcake outfit between the two elves, but I know it would be super cute on just one elf. My daughter was so happy to see the elves (and I was happy to put them away after the one day!) I would recommend especially for the kiddos that still believe!

This collection is a wonderful holiday treat, especially to those children who've read the book (included) and/or have seen the video presentation on TV. The little elf (included) is an exact likeness of "Chippy" from that TV presentation and its fun to watch the family decide what name to give your new "elf". You can then go the website & register your new elf's name. While some parents have found that your new elf's present at various high up spots around the room where the Christmas tree is displayed helps with discipline, most have found that moving him around after the little ones are fast asleep is quickly noticed the next morning with the knowledge that the elf has indeed gone back to talk to Santa during the night. It's all fun & definitely will become an annual tradition that the children will cherish even after they grow up. I highly recommend this version to all families with young children not only for the quality of the elf but also for the large story book that's included with easy to read words and pictures. A wonderful collectible holiday treasure your family can enjoy year after year.

This Elf on the Shelf is a classic Christmas tradition that brings so much excitement and magic to the holiday season. The quality is great, the details are charming, and it’s the perfect way to create fun daily moments and memories for kids. Honestly this little guy gets our family in the Christmas Spirit and my husband is so creative! *Pros: well made, timeless holiday tradition, encourages creativity and imagination. *Cons: The hat keeps falling off so I got some glue and its all good now 💡 Tip: Plan a few easy elf ideas ahead of time to keep the tradition fun and stress-free. Il libro è piaciuto moltissimo a mio figlio, che adora gli elfi. È la versione da ‘buon compleanno’ dell’elfo rosso di Natale, e all’interno c’è anche un vestitino da festa per l’elfo mensolino! Consigliato!
