Good value product!Not quite as powerful or potent as I may have expected, but I don't think it's designed to clean off gloss paint!

brought this for my daughter to use with her oil painting cleans brushes well doesn't work as a thinner tho but there is no smell to it at all

This has no smell, no harshness or irritation on the skin if gets on you. It gets black silicone that bonds steel off your skin and even gets hammerite off your skin. It removes acrylic paint, hammerite and yacht varnish off your brushes, which is super sticky and thick. You cannot leave your brushes soaking in the spirit, it congeals varnish to the bristles, same with hammerite. It works best when you immediately use it to clean your equipment (brushes or roller) after use. I poured some in a jar/plastic container and cleaned my brushes in it and then wiped them dry. Even after they dried, sometimes bristles can go stiff after use with varnish but because I used the safer spirit to clean straight away, then used fresh spirit to rinse and wipe dry with a towel, the bristles remained soft and flexible. I bought a further 4 bottles. Wish they sold it in bigger 2 litre sizes.

Hi, I purchased this in order to clean a front car bumper ready for Spray painting Here is a quick run down. Pros Hardly any smell Cleaned my resin bowl+brush and well Pretty cheep Cons Leaves a small amount of foam residue Does not clean as well as spirit Conclusion: Buy white spirits instead unless your are in a small space and your only washing brushes Edit 31/07/17 I stand by every thing I said but i want to give an extra star, I found it the best brush cleaner and i will buy it again in the future.

I really wanted a safer and more environmentally friendly version of white spirit to work, and I should’ve guessed when the product description says ‘most oil based paints’ can be cleaned off with it, but it was incredibly ineffective for Dulux Trade High Gloss paint. I used tonnes of the stuff, very wasteful, and made no headway. I soaked the brushes in it overnight so that they wouldn’t be ruined and I’d get time to pick up some white spirit. Actual white spirit did the trick no problem. Not safe and not good for the environment but I only needed about an inch out of the bottle to clean three brushes. This safer stuff does take some of the paint off, but it’s not like white spirit where you can see the paint thin immediately and start to come out. You are not going to get properly clean gloss brushes, and there’s another waste. Even after the overnight soak the results were disappointing. I can see it’d work for emulsion brushes, but then so does soap and water.

Great for cleaning oil paints

I really did not know wether this was going to do the trick as my paintbrushes well the paint was not coming out of them i bought some new artist paint brushes but the oil paint would not completely go even leaving it over night so i tried something new this product - i purchased it as it id not smell so much as the other brands and of course its toxicity was a lot lower i thought i would give it a try as it was good value for money and i am really surprised at the results the oil paint has all gone i was goint to throw them away but they go works like a charm the picture was after a three hour soak in the solution they were thick with paint i though i would loose them but lo and behold i will be ordering some more - it was oil paint by the way a great little product
