RobertshawRS9110 Pro Series 5-1-1 Programmable Thermostat, White, 1 Heat / 1 Cool for Single-Stage Systems

This Robertshaw RS9110 thermostat is already paying for itself and has plenty of features for anyone looking for a programable tstat that doesn’t need the additional support of a smart home device. It was very easy to install, the display is large, easy to read, and very bright. It has the capability of using Celsius or Fahrenheit and has adjustable temperature differential that allows you to adjust how sensitive to temperature change your system is before cycling. The scheduling feature allows you to set up to 4 different time/temperature adjustments for both weekdays and weekends. It has a filter change reminder that is programable by system on hours. It has battery backup with 2 AAA batteries included to maintain your settings in case of power loss.This tstat is worlds above the Honeywell tstat it replaced that had no scheduling or adjustable differential. The old tstat temperature probe was too sensitive and would cycle my a/c on/off every 5 to 10 minutes during peak load thus putting more cycles into the compressor and increasing energy consumption on startup. After finding my ideal settings for temp differential (0.5 degrees C) on the new one my system now cycles less frequently. Due to how efficiently this tstat functions I was able to set my a/c about 2 degrees F higher across the board while still maintaining room comfort and doesn’t require me to manually raise the temp during the day to conserve energy. For my temp settings the schedule allows for the ac to stay off for a good 2-3 hours in the mornings and the gradual warming aids me in my morning wake up routine.This really is a nice tstat! Another thing that it does to conserve energy and increase comfort compared to the old Honeywell is that the system would shutoff completely all at once with the old tstat. This RS9110 tstat turns off the compressor first, and then runs the fan for an additional minute to take advantage of the residual cooling still left in the evaporator core. My daily energy usage is down 1-2 dollars so this tstat will be paying for itself in less than 2 months not to mention more longevity to my compressor not cycling so often! Great value, features, and price at less than $50.

Easy to install, replacing an old RS thermostat.

This is very on point, and reliable. It was a bit of a challenge learning to bypass the factory default settings but once you do it’s easy street! If ever we need another thermostat we would not hesitate to buy this particular one again.
