We enjoyed this
My 6 year old granddaughter and I loved this project. We spent quality time coloring the trees, talking about the different types of trees in the kit, and watching the crystals grow. Nice project, affordable price, good instructions, extra little gem included with a booklet on gems. Good job NG, we can always count on good education from you!

Kids were amazed
Great activity, easy instructions and I still can’t figure out how this worked. Amazing trees grew over night and the kids couldn’t believe they made them. They were very delicate so take your pictures fast before someone accidentally knocks one over and causes destruction beyond repair with lots of crying.

Pretty cool!!
I did not have high hopes after reading some of the reviews, but the whole family actually liked them! 2 kids, 2 parents and grandma each made one. You color a paper tree with markers. As you can see in the pictures, only the blue and purple markers really showed up. (Maybe try using other markers?) We did them around 8 p.m. The crystals started growing after about 45 minutes, and we were all surprised at how cool they were the next morning. I think one of the key things is to wet the tops of the trees with the crystal solution. As others have said, this is a throw away project - the crystals are not sturdy enough to keep.

Such a fun kit!
This was such a fun activity for my child and I to do together. The crystals grew really well and were cool to look at. The marker colors don’t spread like they show in the product photos, but still color the crystals enough. The only downside is that the crystals are incredibly fragile! Don’t try to move them at all or they’ll fall off. Overall a great activity!

Very delicate, fun to make!
Super cool but very delicate! Once you make them you cannot move them or they will crumble and fall apart. Fun to make but definitely not to keep. I recommend using the colored markers they supply though they dry up pretty fast. We used some of our own markers after the ones they supplied ran out of ink and the crystals didn't form as well (the rainbow tye dye tree).
