Excellent - I should have bought one years ago
I came across these when I was looking to reduce the blanket weed growing in my pond, and I believe this will take out the nutrients feeding the weed as well as dechlorinating the tap water which I previously let sit in my water butts for a few days to dechlorinate, but apparently this didn't deal with the weed problem as I should only use filtered water or rain water which is difficult when it doesn't rain. Now mounted vertically with a recommended 4" pipe clip, which had a 3mm gap around it when closed - so it didn't fit. I found some suitable neoprene material to fill the gap, and it is now held snugly - it was a bit of a flaff to fit. The flow rate that I use is between 2-3 LPM to make sure that water is filtered thoroughly, and it probably takes up to a couple of hours to fill a full size water butt which is my pond reservoir. I am very pleased with it and it should last me 4-5 years before it will need replacing - maybe longer, but I will never really know when it is exhausted unless I test the water periodically - which I don't.

Works well
It works well, I've had no problems with water tests easy to install, although, when you get the package there is further information, i.e to keep out of bright sunlight to protect from forming Algie inside

Good purchase
I have been using the dechlorinator on my pond for above 12 months. The pond water is crystal clear, and the nitrate/nitrite levels in my pond are zero.

You need to know what 4litres a minute looks like.
So far so good, a lot simpler than messing about with chemicals. I’d advise you to get a inline water meter so you know what 4 litres a minute looks like or you can see the flow rate in my video below.

de-chlorinator
This is a tough one to discuss as it is connected in line to a hose pipe in and pipe out to pond. simple, yes? Not quite, you must only run water through it at 4 litres per minute and with fluctuating water pressures this is near impossible to maintain in practice. It should be fitted with a regulator to give 4 litres per minute to ensure the correct water/carbon contact time during manufacture. Secondly these must be handled very gently as they are brittle and any shock will damage them especially when full of water and these are far from cheap and not refillable. Due to the above I will think twice before buying another.

Does what it says on the tin.
Evolution Aqua make amazing and trustworthy stuff, everything I've used to date is top notch and this is no exception. I used this to top up my pond after a leaky hose line lost about 1/3 of the content, I connected it up to the tap and ran it until it runs clear, once done I run it slowly to trickle top up the pond.Water quality was tested with chlorine test strips, all was good, Koi are happy. All in all very happy, a simple and effective way to top up a pond, the same would be true of an aquarium. This is a much cheaper option than putting a permanent filter in place. The only downside, is the box says it will treat up to 150,000 litres, however without a water meter, it's impossible to tell how much you have run through it, Given this is the purpose of the device and reasonably high price, a cheap meter thrown in would be nice as you really have no idea how much of that 150K is used or when the unit will be exhausted, my pond is only about 5,000 litres so should last me a long time, however test strips are my only way to asses at this time. All in all another great product from Evolution, highly recommended.

Good at first
We bought this to top up the pond water and water our plants without chlorine. This worked wonderfully at first but after a few months I have started to see constant accumulation of carbon bits escaping the tank and getting lodged into my spray gun. It needs constant cleaning and loads of carbon bits would fall out each time I clean it. This is not OK as it can ruin nozzles and sprays. This also makes the water pressure very weak because on top of the filter itself reducing pressure, the loose carbon aggravates the issue.
