TECKNET Wireless Ergonomic Keyboard, 2.4G USB & Bluetooth Rechargeable Keyboard, UK Layout

I got this because my laptop keyboard was playing up and I wanted to try writing more by using my phone to write while on the move. Ive found it great for both. There's no lag, it's easy to pair. Sturdy enough to get thrown into a bag. I’ve found myself using it with my phone in the house, in favour of lugging my laptop around. **Features** One of the main reasons I got this keyboard over others was the thickness. Ithe really is 4mm thick everywhere. Unlike some, where it looks nice and thin but the batteries are round and at the back, making the overall thickness a few centimeters. I wanted this one to fit between the screen and broken keyboard of my laptop, which it does pretty well. I also wanted a backlight so I could work at night. There's plenty of other features include haven't explored, just yesterday I found a function button that closed the on screen keyboard on my phone - an extremely useful feature. **Usability and layout** The keyboard is only slightly smaller than a normal keyboard, and was really easy to type on. Ive used tiny keyboards before and found them impossible to adjust to. This isn't one of those, I could type fine from the beginning. The key action is decent, especially for its size. I'd favour this over old 2005 USB apple keyboard. Layout wise there is one major flaw, the function and control keys are switched compared to normal layouts I've used. It's not too much of a problem if you don't use it a lot, but I found myself pressing one when I meant the other. Other than this, I've had no problems at all. **Build quality** It's really well built for the price. I was looking to get this or a more expensive keyboard with more metal, thinking it would be more rigid. I chose this for its thinness and backlight. However, even though it is mostly plastic it is still rigid and well made. There's only flex if you twist it, not in normal use at all. Though plastic the front is a kind of faux brushed metal and I wouldn't be able to tell it from aluminium without touching it. Overall, it's very decent.

I bought this keyboard as a companion for my Nexus 9 tablet. It's a similar size to the Nexus 9, and both fit neatly in the side pocket of my backpack. The build quality is fine, given the low price point; I did have a problem whereby the Caps Lock LED was not working. While the key was switching between upper and lower case fine, the LED wasn't lighting up. I contacted TeckNet, and they responded quickly to offer me the option of a replacement, or a partial refund. I took the refund option, since the keyboard was working fine otherwise. It offers Android, Apple, and Windows modes, though I only tried it with Android. Syncing with Android was painless, and the keyboard quickly re-syncs when I switch it on via the switch on the front. There are function shortcuts for volume, home, cut and paste, etc. which are activated by holding the FN key and pressing a key on the top line. The backlight works fine, with options for dim, bright, and off, and a small choice of colours - purple, cyan, blue, red, green and yellow (which looks more like a lighter green) though it does seem to revert back to the default red when powered off. Charging is via a MicroUSB port on the right, and the batterly life is decent. The keyboard also holds its charge well when switched off. I've successfully left it in a bag for several weeks and it still had charge when switching it back on. The underside of the keyboard is quite slippy, so the keyboard can move while in use. I fixed this by applying some cheap self-adhesive rubber feet, and its now much more secure. Perhaps they could be included in the future? Overall, a decent purchase given the price. There are better keyboards out there, but they likely cost a lot more.

After searching everywhere for a keyboard for our six-year-old daughter to learn touch-typing on, I am pleased to have found this one! We also have an HDMI switch by TeckNet, which works well, but similarly, with very slight ergonomic imperfections in its design. BLUETOOTH PAIRING worked straight away with a modern laptop computer running Windows 10, after I first charged the keyboard and then removed the USB charging cable (pairing appears to be inhibited by simultaneous charging, but once paired, the bluetooth connection remains operational and communicates whether charging or not). However my old desktop computer running Windows 8.1, with an older Bluetooth adaptor, didn't want to pair with the keyboard at all, and when I tried to pair it with my old Android phone, the phone reported that it wasn't compatible with Bluetooth HID devices. The KEY PITCH (spacing between keys = 17mm instead of 19mm) is about right for our six-year-old (slightly bigger than ideal for her, which is about right overall since most keyboards are much larger than this), though the keys are very slightly firmer than they should be for her little fingers. The illumination is good, and the colour options are a nice bonus: ideally I would have liked more colour options more evenly distributed, and for these to cycle in a more rainbow-like sequence to make them easier to search. (Most available lighting colour options are close to primaries: red, green, blue, turquoise etc., and some of the greenish colour options are so similar to each other that I can hardly tell the difference; whereas it would be nice to have a broader range of more gentle colour options like white, pink and pastel orange — it would also be wonderful to control the colour via software like "f.lux" or Philips Hue.) Irrespective of your colour selection (and independently controlled), there are two brightness levels: pressing the "light" button repeatedly cycles between OFF, ON, and BRIGHTER. No doubt, our daughter will be fascinated with the lighting controls! The lighting is especially helpful for us because we have changed the keycap layout from UK to Dvorak Simplified. This change was unproblematic because the scissor keycap supports were robust enough not to break, when removing keys from the bottom edge first; and the clips are identically oriented for all of the keycaps we needed to exchange. Some of the media keys work as expected: mute/unmute, volume up/down, forward/backward/pause/play… However, the Cut/Copy/Paste buttons seemed to be mixed up, and the "Undo" button doesn't seem to work, which is a shame for me because they're the shortcut buttons I would have used the most. (I guess I'll have to use the usual SHIFT+[XCVZ] Windows shortcuts for these functions!) It appears that (in Windows mode at least) to use the F1'F12 keys as function keys, one must hold down the "Fn" button at the same time as pressing the F[1-12]-key; whereas to use the auxiliary media functions, you just press the button. Some functions (lock?) may be reserved for use with certain operating systems. As a software developer, I would have liked a Pause/Break key and a Print Scrn key; but I do realise that on many compact designs this is the first key to be sacrificed. Perhaps these functions could have been included via key combinations? I'm struggling with the "Fn" key placement in the corner (where my fingers expect the CTRL key), though I can understand why the Windows key isn't in the usual place if this keyboard must cater to the whims of Android and Apple OSX/iOS users as well. In conclusion: TeckNet has done an excellent job: among all the keyboards I've seen at this size/ key-pitch, this one has the most standard layout (with almost the correct number of keys, function keys included, and no funny-shaped or odd-sized keys except at the very edges). It's very slightly more flexible than I anticipated, but doesn't feel as though it's going to break unless vigorously abused by one of our children. Overall, good value for money!

First off, this review is for the - TeckNet® Arctrix Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, LED Illuminated, Water-Resistant, UK Layout I recieved this keyboard today and have to say I'm very very impressed. I've been after a decent keyboard for a while and I've tried quite a few of the lesser priced items and yet they always seem to be lacking (Some didn't feel right, some only had backlit keys etc) I thought I'd Push the boat out a bit and go for a slightly more expensive model. This was the one I decided to try. First off, this is a Mechanical Keyboard (I'm assuming it uses Micro Switches for each key rather that the Membrane type switch you normally get). I've never used on before, but I love the way the key presses feel. Its a pleasure to type on. Even nicer than my previous favourite a Logitech G510. In future any keyboard I buy is going to be mechanical. The Keyboard is Backlit with a strong Blue LED (The instructions say there shouild be 6 colours, but I can't find anyway to change it from blue) The Lettering on the keys is translucent so the LED shines through to let you see the keys in the Dark which is very handy. The led is customizable, with 3 presets that light up jst specific areas of the Keyboard. But you can also I believe program it however you want. The LEDS also come with various Effects. You can have it just lighting up each key you touch, or have the key lght up from left to right etc when pressed, there are I believe 10 different effects for you to choose from, all of which are a really cool feature. All of these combinations are achieved by pressing the FN button and one of the lacelled buttons for the effect you require. There is also the ability to disable the Windows Key so you don't get interuptted when gaming. (a Notification light on the Right hand side illuminates when this activated) Its a superbly well made keyboard, it's also the heaviest I've ever owned (Not that that really makes a difference) I was supplied with the UK layout as in the Description. The mouse supplied is also very good. It fits comfortably in my hand and has adjustable DPI which makes it extremly responsive. Theres 2 side buttons and the usual scrolly wheel (Which can also act as a switch). The mouse is also illuminated with Blue LED's. I didn't buy this for the mouse,but I've stopped using my old one and will now use this one instead. In short I'm very happy with this purchase, and to me at £34.99 its a bargain. I'd also like to point out that I didn't recieve a discount for leaving this review like a lot of people seem to these days. I was genuinly looking for a decent keyboard and this has certainly ticked every box for me.

I liked the quality feel of this keyboard and the noise level but the numbers and other control keys on the right were part of the main keyboard with no gaps between. I was finding that I was pressing them in error as they felt part of my keys. Now tried another ergonomic one which I am keeping despite it being a noisy space bar.Number adn cotrol keysa re

Bought this for my iPad 2 primarily, and have only used it with that but don't see why I couldn't use it with my wife's Windows tablet or my Android phone. I find the 'soft' keyboard that comes up on both iPad and Android is OK for a quick text but not much good for tasks such as writing emails. I also use Skype instant messaging a lot for communicating with work colleagues, and this keyboard is superb for that purpose. It replaces an old bluetooth keyboard which was let down by very poor switches (power, bluetooth connect), but was quite adequate for the job. The TeckNet keyboard however looks much more stylish, with a black 'brushed' appearance (excluding the keys which are plain black) that seems to be fairly robust. It's very lightweight and in profile is only about a quarter of an inch thick (which includes the keys which are proud). The old keyboard had a 'stand' included which this doesn't, however I separately bought an adjustable stand which combined with this keyboard gives me a lot more versatility in terms of both screen position and keyboard placement. I am able to move the keyboard wherever I want which means that I can type in a far more comfortable posture. If you're pondering whether to buy a separate stand and keyboard, or an integrated one (which is usually cheaper) I'd definitely go for the former. I keep the keyboard on constantly, and so far (about 2 weeks) haven't had to recharge the battery after giving it an initial charge (not sure it needed it but did it anyway). When I want to use it I tap a key to restart the bluetooth connection which takes two or three seconds. One thing that my kids love is that the keys are backlit with several low light selectable colours. This to me could be very useful as I'm on call so can get called late at night and to have a nice soft backlit keyboard rather than having to have the glare of a lamp is rather pleasant. Incidentally I touch type but still tend to look at the keyboard for special characters and numbers. Just one minor niggle which I think is probably something to do with the iPad itself because my old keyboard had the same issue, is that the @ key and the " key are 'swapped'. Just something to watch out for if you're typing an email address. There's probably an means of rectifying this but I've never found IOS particularly intuitive and I can't find any way of changing the mapping under the keyboard settings.

Taken me ages to pick a portable keyboard to use with my Shield Tablet, I've high standards being used to a mechanical gaming keyboard on a PC. There are a few different branded versions of this it seems, and I don't know if there's any difference, but this one from TeckNet seems alright. The logo isn't on the space bar, by the way, its on the top left bezel All in all its simple, quick to set up and use (used with Android 5.1 so far, can't comment on any other OS), comes with instruction and warranty cards and a single, quite short USB to Micro B (standard for most phones etc) cable. The back lighting is a nice aesthetic feature, with a choice of colours and two brightness settings, Its super light, and the front plastic has a faux brushed aluminium texture. For some reason the whole keyboard is slightly concave, probably to do with a slight warping of the back panel but it doesn't affect function. The keys use a standard scissor switch, so they're low profile, about as loud as your average modern laptop, and it actually only takes a short time to get used to the spacing - I wouldn't say its cramped, but its obviously a departure for anyone who's used to full sized desktop keyboards. The F keys work as alternate functions in Android, e.g. a home and a back button, media keys and volume etc, all seems to work fine As stated, in Android 5.1 the caps lock light doesn't register, but the button still works so you just have pay attention to what you're writing Good quality for the price and gets the job done

THIS KEYBOARD DESERVES A FIVE STAR REVIEW If in a hurry, see addendum posted 4 November 2017 in the bottom of this review. A bit of background as to why I decided to give this a 5 star rating might help, so take a minute and read on. I date back to the days of the first IBM PC's. As the older folks amongst you might know, those PC's came with beautifully made mechanical keyboards, or to be more accurate, the keyswitch mechanism was mechanical.. Those keyboards were made in IBM's big plant in Greenock (Scotland), where I spend many many days. Especially the IBM AT PC's had a fabulous keyboard, so much so that people often hooked that keyboard up to different makes of PC's, that keyboard was so dammed good. The IBM PC is no more, long gone and nowadays we live in the days of cheap and cheerful throw away stuff, and that includes keyboards, with their soft "spongy and rubbery" feel.. Not so this TeckNet Arctrix Mechanical gaming keyboard. Hold on for minute... I do NOT play games, at 71 years old, I have many other interests and gaming is certainly not one of them. A few years ago Chillblast UK build a bespoke PC for me and I splashed out and ordered a VERY EXPENSIVE Cm Storm Quickfire mechanical keyboard. Those keyboards, made by Cooler Master, are not cheap, but I venture to say that even that keyboard was still beaten by the IBM AT PC Keyboard qua feel. Enter the TechNet Keyboard which I bought from Amazon recently as the CM Storm had died due to the abuse given to it by my ten cats. . As I am still a wee bit biased after all those years, I would still go for the IBM, qua mechanical feel, but in every other aspect the ARCTRIX is just as good, if not better. Beautifully backlit, with back light intensity that can be adjusted to your liking. Nice fold-out feet, if that is yr wish, a good solid feel ands a nice numeric keypad to boot and as you would expect a nice decent braided cable. Let me state again, I bought this keyboard for typing on, often at night and decent backlighting is an ABSOLUTE must for me. This keyboard offers plenty options for you die hard gamers out there, but I can't comment on those as I do not game, but if they are as good as the keyboard itself, I am sure you will be pleased and find just what you need. (BTW, if fancy moving light patterns take yr fancy, yes this bloody keyboard does 'em too, but they are well and truly wasted on me, I'm too old for a fancy light organ ! Oops... almost forgot. UK layout, with the £ key where you want it. And another nice feature ? The backlight after a while switches off, but reactivates the very second you touch any key. that's a really nice feature... i think. In summary, after two weeks of hammering these beautifully backlighted keys, I have zero hesitation in rating this keyboard with a 5 start rating. While I did not use their technical support line, I am told it is excellent and they show a real and genuine interest in their customers. All in All, go for it. I am sure that this is one purchase you will never regret. This is a genuine purchase and not a freebie review as there seem to be more and more these days on Amazon. In my opinion, the test and crucial question on a purchase is very simple: Knowing what you know now, WOULD YOU BUY IT AGAIN ? The answer is a resounding YES. So much so, I bought a second one and gave it to a friend who is equllay delighted with this keyboard. You just cannot go wrong with this one. ADDENDUM 4 NOVEMBER 2017 Remain absolutely delighted with this keyboard, after it having been subjected to abuse by my ten (10) resident cats. The keyboard on my laptop is not working correctly and I don't have the time to put it in for repair, so I bought this one. It works great, but it times out a little fast and I have to wake it up a lot. I just set it on top of the laptop keyboard and type away.

Big enough to make in-office days easier but small enough to fit in my backpack. I also love how long the charge lasts!

I'm still using this bluetooth keyboard. very thin and easy to set up. Good for traveling

Easy bluetooth connection. Love the rechargeable aspect. Love the size, same as my laptop but with the addition of 10-key. The design is very slim, but also flat, without a built-in riser to angle for ergonomic typing. Keys are noisier than my laptop keys. Disappointed with the lag/delay when 'waking up', which seems to happen after just a few minutes of no use. It misses the first keystrokes which is frustrating. I put 'feet' on the back to create the needed tilt, and am trying to adjust to the wake up lag. If you can live with those issues, the convenience of wireless and rechargeable is great!

It works well and has a very long battery life. I do wish I could make the function keys stay on by default, but it's a minor issue.
