Is the lid dog-proof?

The lid just flips open when you push it up. A dog could very easily open it. The bin is great maybe you could put a simple lock on it. Or turn the bin facing the wall as a dog would find it hard too open from the back of the bin i would think.

what weight of dog food will it hold?

15 kg bags of dry dog food has been no problem but you can probably get about 17kg in at a push. No smell that I can tell, and dog doesn't try and get into it so we leave our bin in the kitchen.

What is the dimension of the bin without the lid on?

The bin is 45cm high and 39cm square without the lid.

is the height 51 cm? is it a 50 ltr bin or 25? In one place it seems to say 50 but below in th product description it says 25? i need a 51cm high gree
