iCar Pro BLE 4.0 OBD2 Diagnostic Tool Fault Code Reader OBDII Compatible Car Adapter Check Engine Light for iOS, Android and Windows

I have a Bmw i3s and wanted to connect an OBD2 dongle to A Better Route Planner to enable proper route planning. The connection to my phone through the Mi3 app seems reliable and it provides lots of interesting information about the battery and energy usage. I can't get it to directly interface with ABRP, but through their connection to MI3 it still works perfectly for my needs. My only critique would be that the speed of data transfer is not brilliant, it takes a while to load all the metrics, perhaps because of the older bluetooth version compared to more expensive options. Compatibility seems fine though, and it works for what I need it for.

I bought this to work with LeafSpy software so that I can monitor and manage my Nissan Leaf (2023). I unpacked it, plugged it into the car and it worked straight away. My only minor grumble is that once the car is turned off. the device is disconnected and when the car is started again, it is necessary to remove the dongle and plug it in again to restart it. Not sure if this is cased by the dongle, the car or me.. Time will tell. It's not possible to put the plastic cover back in place with the dongle inserted. Ideally, I would prefer to have the device installed in the car then to cover it up and have it work with no further interaction but so far, this has not been possible. Very handy for doing occasional checks on the car but not for continuous use with navigation software apps.

I've been using the OBDLink MX for a long time for onboard telemetry in various cars. The reason I have always used the OBDLink is because it has a very fast refresh rate. Whilst this doesn't matter so much when clearing fault codes etc, it matters a great deal when using something like a tablet to display the engines RPMs in near real time. The other advantage is the low power / standby option that means you can leave it plugged into the car without worrying about battery drain. This is the first alternative I have found that provides both those features at about 1/6th of the price of the OBDLink MX and about 1/4 of the price of their entry LX. For actual fault diagnosis, like most devices of this type it is nowhere near as feature rich as something like the Launch, which can also talk to almost every other ECU in your car from SRS/Airbag, Transmission etc to Air Suspension calibration. It does an adequate job of reading check engine light fault codes, however, and clearing them. Physically the device is really small and discreet. It feels well made, too. Overall I would say this is about the best cheap bluetooth OBD adapter I have come across.

It's easy to install. It allows you to read fault codes and clear them. You have to clear the fault codes manually from the app. The Vgate doesn't automatically clear the code or the EML. I didn't read the details properly before purchasing it. I have a diagnostic reader which does everything the Vgate does so I didn't need to buy it. It is conveniently small so I can keep it plugged in rather than getting the diagnostic pad out.

This works well in my Peugeot e208 to read pretty much all the parameters you want from the car. It communicates via bluetooth to my phone. I have used it successfully with the Car Scanner app (for free) and also with ABRP (A Better Route Planner). With ABRP it reads battery data directly from the car to be able to use GPS to plan routes that include charging since the app knows what your battery charge level is along with other data like battery temperature, your speed, AC power use etc. (Note: you need to pay for premium sub in the ABRP app to use this feature with Car Play, but free otherwise). This adds a Tesla-like experience to navigating to unfamiliar long routes since all the planning is handled for you.

This item is perfect and works so well with the Carista. I have had one since the last 3 years until I lost my one and then bought it again. If you will be using Carista then I highly recommend this product!

works great with bimmerlink, bought this to register my new battery on my F31 320d. You do need to pay £35 for the software license but its well worth it when you get all the features, diagnostics, DPF status and ability to force regens - a must when a diesel is getting hammered on short journeys non stop. Bargain.

Bought this item on the 23rd May 2026 to check the SOH on my Nissan leaf with leaf spy, worked great for six weeks then nothing it stopped working, with the power light working but it was not broadcasting, the product indicates that it has a 2 year warranty. Good luck finding out how to contact product support associated with the warranty on amazon. I got quite a lot of information on the product using Co-pilot AI. which indicates that the problem with my unit is common to BLE units and the best option is Wi fi, it even recommended the Vgate Wifi version as an alternative. Needless to say Vgate will not be in my consideration when considering a replacement, once bitten twice shy!!!!

Dopo diverse settimane di utilizzo, posso confermare che si tratta di uno dei migliori adattatori ELM327 sul mercato per rapporto qualità/prezzo.Ecco i punti chiave basati sulla mia esperienza: PRO: Connessione BLE istantanea: A differenza dei vecchi modelli Bluetooth, con la versione 4.0 BLE non serve fare l'accoppiamento manuale dalle impostazioni dello smartphone. Basta attivare il Bluetooth sul telefono, aprire l'applicazione diagnostica e si collega da sola in un secondo. Funziona perfettamente sia su iOS (iPhone) che su Android. Funzione Auto-Sleep (fondamentale): Potete lasciarlo inserito nella presa OBD2 dell'auto senza la paura di ritrovarvi con la batteria a terra . Dopo circa 30 minuti dallo spegnimento del quadro, il dispositivo va in modalità standby automatico e consuma un quantitativo di energia irrisorio. Si risveglia da solo appena accendete l'auto. Compatibilità software enorme: L'ho testato con successo su diverse applicazioni. Funziona in modo fulmineo con Car Scanner ELM OBD2 (per la diagnostica generale e la cancellazione degli errori) e risponde benissimo con BimmerCode per chi ha necessità di sbloccare funzioni nascoste o fare codifiche su auto del gruppo BMW/Mini. Dimensioni ridotte: È talmente compatto che una volta inserito nella presa OBD non intralcia minimamente i piedi durante la guida. CONTRO: Non ha un'applicazione proprietaria inclusa, quindi per sfruttarlo al massimo dovrete scaricare app di terze parti (molte delle quali richiedono un piccolo acquisto in-app per sbloccare le funzioni avanzate o rimuovere la pubblicità, ma ne vale assolutamente la pena). Un consiglio utile per la prima configurazione: Se usate Android, nelle impostazioni Bluetooth vedrete due voci (IOS-VLINK e ANDROID-VLINK). Selezionate esclusivamente quella Android. Se usate iPhone, non cercatelo nei menu del telefono: aprite direttamente l'app scelta (es. Car Scanner), andate nelle impostazioni di connessione dell'app, selezionate "Bluetooth LE" e scegliete il dispositivo da lì.Lo consiglio vivamente sia a chi vuole semplicemente tenere sotto controllo i consumi e i parametri del motore, sia a chi ama il fai-da-te e vuole risparmiare sui costi di officina per la lettura dei codici di errore.

Au départ : je souhaitais utiliser sur notre Tucson l'app iOS Car Scanner car elle est compatible CarPlay. Lorsque j'ai reçu le boitier Vgate iCar Pro, une seule lampe rouge s'allumait en fixe. Je pensais à tord que le boitier était défectueux car je n'arrivais pas à le jumeler en Bluetooth sur mon iPhone. Après contact avec le vendeur (très efficace) : Je faisais fausse route, il suffit juste que le bluetooth soit actif sur l'iPhone. Puis sur l'iPhone lancer Car scanner => ds les settings => choisir le véhicule et le type de boitier Vgate ici "Adapter OBDII ELM327" => Mode de connection "Bluetooth LE (4.0)". Une fois connecter, sur l'écran CarPlay lancer l'app "Car Scanner" et vs aurez toutes les alertes, consommation, tour minute précis, etc Bref ce petit gadget est génial, du bonheur !

Genial,se emparejó sin problema ,lo quería para mí coche eléctrico y poder ver el estado de la batería y sorprendidó con todos los parámetros que puedes ver,te tienes que bajar una aplicación externa en mi caso car scaner gratuita , totalmente recomendable

Używany z Toyotą Auris hybrid, działa bez problemu, robi co ma robić. Kasuje błędy, wyświetla mnóstwo danych.

Works as advertised, would of liked a cheaper price though.
