Does the job well; but the wire between the straighteners and the water tank is of that awful, old fashioned kind that twists itself into a shorter length and is prone to pulling the water tank over. You need to make sure that water tank suction pads are secure (the pads are good). The machine itself is ‘clunky ‘ and heavy, hard to manipulate;but the results are extremely good. I did not like the effect when comb was in, better when (easily) removed. The whole process on dry hair takes a few minutes and is much longer lasting. I use Color wow dream coat as protector, this combination means I no longer have to use toxic hair spray to seal the hairdo. Happy days!I hope that the manufacturer will refine the design and make it much lighter. Please put in better wiring.

I read many, many, MANY reviews and decided to buy the Steampod to see for myself if it was good as the reviews said it was. It wasn’t for me sadly and I think this is why. I have dry, thick, coloured, curly hair and I have bought every product under the sun to try and cut down drying time. I bought a Dyson hair dryer last year and that took years off my life. It blow dried my hair in 30 mins (whereas before it used to take well over an hour and then I had to straighten) and I think that’s why the steampod hasn’t lived up to expectations. Had I not purchased the Dyson, I would probably think this was the bees knees and would be delighted with the results. I left my hair to dry naturally so I resembled a scarecrow and started with the steampod. It took me about 45 mins to get my hair straight and I had to keep going over and over the same bit of hair to do this. My Dyson takes me 30 mins and I only have to use straighteners for my hair line baby curls. So my advice, if you have a Dyson - don’t buy this. If you don’t have a Dyson, this is cheaper and you get the same results just takes a bit longer (if you have my hair type).
