Harry Potter: A Pop-up Book: Based on the Film Phenomenon Hardcover – Pop up, 16 Nov. 2010

I bought this for my 8 year old Harry Potter obsessive, after seeing it recommended on a Christmas gift ideas forum online. I was a bit skeptical as I think the cover looks a bit naff. Don't judge a book by it's cover really is true here, the contents of the book are jaw dropping. Really creative and any Harry Potter fan will be delighted with this. There are lots of little envelopes and fold out bits to open as well as the impressive pop up structures.Every party my child has been to this year has been Harry Potter themed, and my own daughter has had duplicates for the last few Christmases and birthday's of the most common themed giftables in this price range such as stationary, HP Dobble, scratch art, Tom Riddles diary (which is brilliant by the way, but we don't need three) so this really seems to be a unique gift. I've come back to purchase another one for a classmates birthday next month, Harry Potter themed of course!Any Harry Potter fan would be delighted with this, child or adult.

I've bought this to put away for christmas 2023 for our granddaughter, yes I'm 7mnths early but I got it at a really good price I couldn't resist. She's just started having the first book read to her and I have a tradition of buying her an extra special book for christmas and this seemed perfect. It's stunning, the pop ups are fantastic, I'd place it up there with the robert sabuda pop ups. But I imagine it could be damaged by accident by little hands, so it's more of a book to share together like other pop up books she's had in the past.

A very good pop up book, great pop outs on each page bringing the story to life.It creates an interactive, exciting experience for the owner.Highly recommend, it was purchased for an 8 year old.

I ordered this for my son's 7th birthday and it's turned out to be one of his absolute favourite gifts. He has spent hours pouring over the gorgeous pictures with his sister (4). The response when he first opened it and the two of them made an audible intake of awed breath was wonderful as I was worried that such a techno-minded generation wouldn't necessarily be very impressed with something that wasn't all singing and dancing. They are always finding extra little details to ignite their imaginations and the howler letter that came with it has been incorporated into many a game. I would highly recommend this to any young Potter fan.

This is better than expected ,amazing popup paper engineering in wonderful color, each double page immediately took my breath away, so complex.An immediate link to the magic of the Harry Potter and films.The only gripe is I wish there were more delightful pages !This was a gift ,but I'm tempted to buy another for myself....highly recommended by an older H.P. fan who's never grown up!

On opening the first page of this, unfortunately, very short book, i was a little dissapointed the first page wasn't even a pop up at all, however it did have a couple of posters and a small 'howler' pop up as substitute. As i continued onto the second page i found the book did get better, Diagon Alley does look good in pop up but it could have been a bit more awesome and spectacular, as it is a simple v fold pop up and nothing more. Highlights of the book include the pop up of Hogwarts which is very very good and the forbidden forest and hagrids hut pop up which is equally as brilliant. As a bonus there is smaller pop ups that are even more complex than the big ones on the pages. The pages also come with short paragraphs on how certain aspects of the movies were made, they are far too brief and really are not that interesting, perhaps if the information were to be more interesting and detailed this book would achieve a five star rating.Overall, the book is very pleasing and i was happy with the purchase, but it could have been a lot better and i think if this had been in the hands of better paper engineers it would have been a five star product.

We have a number of pop up books by Robert Sabuda, which are amazing and this book is of the same quality.Illustrations are fabulous, and the 3D pop out scenes are fascinating.My daughter was amazed by it and spend ages reading and playing with it (imaginative chatter as she played out different scenes).Well recommended.I’ve used Speedyhen several times too, and they’re reliable as well as competitively priced.

This book is wonderful full of surprises and the pop up pages are just wonderfully done a real joy
