This works quite well depending on location.
Cheap enough to try, but if you live in a area where several transmitters overlap, then it reads all of them at once so using it to adjust even a very directional aerial on the roof, (especially while clinging to the chimney !) is not particularly easy. But once roughly on line with the transmitter, you can peak the signal using this quite effectively. Tip... if you can look at other aerials nearby and see where they point! Also useful if tracing bad downlead /distribution feeds wiring without carting a tv into the loft etc!

Just didn't work.
I do like to take a lot of the reviews on here with a pinch of salt, unfortunately that approach does seem to cost me money quite often. Like other reviewers I got one green light no matter which way I pointed the aerial but got two green lights if I turned it 90 degrees away from where I know the transmitter to be. This is also 90 degrees off from the direction of everyone else's aerial. The choice is yours.

Wrong way around
It would appear that the connections internally are the wrong way aroundIf I plug my existing aerial into the antenna socket as advised, there is no signal indicated even though when plugged into the TV we have a picture. If I plug the antenna into the receiver socketnot advised, I have the green LEDs on as I would expect.I am to fit a new antenna and use with caravan so expect it to work OK

Useless
Useless is perhaps a little unfair as the included adaptor is useful and it is a useful tool to deplete 9V batteries, but otherwise.... I tried to use it with both Aerial and Satellite dish (as suggested in the description) and it worked on neither. £10 is a lot of money for an adaptor plug as I threw the meter in the bin.I was hoping, being a Labgear product it would be from people who knew stuff about stuff...apparently not in this case.If you are thinking of buying this I would strongly suggest don't.

Cheap for a reason.
No use to me what so ever. I could point the aerial in any direction and still only get one LED displayed. This is despite getting an excellent signal on the TV downstairs. I was hoping to use it to fine tune the position of the aerial so I can get a couple of +1 channels that break up occasionally but having walked around the entire house and garden with antenna in hand, only one LED illuminated even when I pointed the aerial at the floor. Useless.

Great little gadget.
Cheap little TV aerial signal detector.Plug aerial lead into the gadget. If aerial receiving a signal, one green light is lit. There are four green lights to show strength of signal. I have a signal booster, so tested it downstream if this. Got 2 green lights, so detector working fine. Ignore bad reviews they obviously don't know what they are doing. I tested it on TV aerial at caravan, no green lights. Swing aerial, 360 degrees. No light, so no signal. See my review about ch 4 app, re getting live TV with no aerial (must have WiFi though)!

Had issues using it
I bought this with the intention of using it to setup a loft aerial in my home. All was fine, got a signal, not a great signal but it was enough to get one light. I then fitted the aerial and wired everything in then went downstairs to the aerial sockets and got no signal. After a lot of up and down a ladder I managed to get a signal and tune in the tv. Left evrything setup, then next morning the signal had disappeared. Checked everything and all was as it should have been except no signal from any of my aerial points. I carried on regardless (because I was losing the plot, and tools) and even with no signal registering on the device I got a great reception. 2 stars because it seemed to work but ultimately it seemed a little irrelevant to have.

Does not work
After not having any tv since bilsdale went up in flames, I decided to try and get my tv working again. An engineer did visit but the tv channels were still unwatchable so I got a new ariel, I decided on getting this with it to make sure I had ariel facing in best direction, as it was in the loft.It is absolutely useless, I only managed to get a red light, I should have had some green lights as I new there was a signal, just not a great one. I pointed ariel in same direction as the one I already had in the loft but still nothing. Complete waste of money.
