As I said before the pack contains 12 individual boxes (12 cones in each box) with each box containing cones of one type of fragrance. Therefore you get a total of 12 different incenses in the pack.

Q: Do they leave a sooty smell after they have gone out

No they do not. These are amazing . Long lasting scent. Amazing product. I highly recommend this. No more burnt cardboard odour anymore. Plus these incense stick last much longer (15mins).
