Kubernetes Programming with Go: Programming Kubernetes Clients and Operators Using Go and the Kubernetes API

If you are anything like me, a go developer that wishes to have a better understanding of how to develop kubernetes constructs, then this book might be the resource you need.The author dedicates valuable time explaining the relationship between the libraries used to develop/extend kubernetes, providing valuable examples. The author also kindly explains concepts and links these explanations with what is in the kubernetes source code.Long story short, in my opinion, this is a great resource, I would definitely recommend it.

This book is just what I was looking for. I've been needing to ramp up on coding with K8s, and this book hits a home run, starting out at the beginning with the API and taking the reader through the bases of the client-go libraries. Philippe Martin pulls back the covers on Kubernetes client programming in a way that is methodical, and thorough. The writing is terse, but the ideas are communicated completely. That's why it is a lovely mere 316 pages. The printing and binding is very nice and flexible too.If you want to know how to code on Kubernetes, and you like a printed book, this is the one to buy without a second thought. I'd recommend some general purpose K8s hands on and reading, such as "Kubernetes Up and Running" as well as some Golang exposure as a good foundation to the level and subject matter here.

The book explains the Kubernetes API, the Go libraries to work with the Kubernetes API, extending the API with CRDs, all the way to writing Operators. Provides well documented examples and easy to follow .

I have been working with Kubernetes for a while and wanted to dive into some grey areas in how it was developed, what architectural and development practices were adopted, and how I could use Golang to implement specialized components on this platform. This book was excellent, covering both basic and more advanced topics very clearly. Would recommend.

The book lacks a guide on properly handling the mentioned objekts. Just displaying the used API is not sufficient for a book with that title.

You would be better off reading the documentation than this book, no guidance just some developer publishing their own learning notes, not worth the price, I might have kept it for 20 odd dollars but not at 40.
