Gentle yet powerful
Does a great job of gently removing polish and wax back down to the leather. Easy to use and allows a renewed rebuild of layers quickly after use. Much better than removing with heat as there is no chance of scorching the leather. As a former Soldier and current Chauffeur, I have bulled boots and shoes all my life, wish I knew about this and the other high quality Saphir products earlier. This product sits alongside the other excellent Saphir range that together allow me to produce an impressive finish.

Good at removing old built-up shoe wax
Still learning about the many Saphir products I'm supposed to use but this one I've now used most of the bottle. It's good for what it's meant for. Removing old waxes and resin left on leather by cheaper waxes or just a built-up of wax over time. You only need a small amount to do the job. On a piece of soft cloth like t-shirt cotton, work it into the sections of the shoe until the cloth is covered in the old wax. Once done I usually give the shoe a good wipe with a clean cloth and give it a while for the last of the solvent to evaporate. The Saphir products seem to work well. They're expensive but they really make a difference to my shoes. If your shoes are good quality the Saphir makes sense.

Powerful cleaner
Strong cleaner. Gets out most stains and chemicals from cheap polishes, also opens pores in leather to allow creams and conditioners to penetrate the leather. Just apply with a soft lint-free cloth and leave for 15 minutes, then apply shoe cream to polish. (It will leave the leather looking dull if not polished after)

Amazing and worked like a charm
I was a bit sceptical about it's efficacy, but when I used it , it worked great, removed all the previous polish and colours back to the original one. It was amazing to see all the previous layers of polish and cream removed back to the original colour without damaging the leather. Highly recommended. Concerning the delivery, it was prompt as expected from amazon

A useful, but not essential, addition to your shoe cleaning regime
The key to polishing shoes is "less is more" but I'm sure we've all been guilty of using too much polish and then struggling to get a shine. Or using those foam pads to give our shoes a quick touch up. Saphir's Renomat is designed to strip off all the layers of accumulated gunk and get you back to the leather as it came out of the factory - dyed, but not polished. I used it on an old, and badly treated, pair of Loake Oban shoes. These are corrected (aka "polished") leather - second quality leather sanded down and given a light lacquer coating. You can tell this leather from the very smooth surface, high gloss shine, cracking of the leather and scuffs that can't be polished out. Lovely shoes, though. I put the Renomat on cotton wool pads and just rubbed away (medium pressure) until no more colour came off. Sprayed with water and rubbed with a clean cloth. Left to dry overnight. The shoes looked awful - dull, drab and seemingly ready for the bin. Not a hint of a shine. I then used the Saphir Renovator mink oil based cream. This is wonderful stuff - the consistency of mayonnaise, it conditions and nourishes the leather. I applied with my fingers and left for 30 mins for it to work. I then buffed the shoes initially with a horsehair brush and then with a microfibre cloth. At this point I'd got a pretty good shine. I then sparingly applied leather cream of the appropriate colour. Polished and buffed. Superb. Then did the same with a hard wax polish. I've never seen my shoes look so good. However...I think the key to these results were the Renovator cream and the leather cream. I use both of these when I now polish my shoes. I'm less convinced that the Renomat (and the hard wax polish - unless you want a mirror shine) are critical. That said, if you've got shoes that have a significant build up of (especially cheap, man-made) polish the Renomat could be useful. If you have really expensive shoes that have been hand coloured (to give a bespoke patina) then I'd probably avoid the Renomat, just in case. Good to have in your shoe care box, but not essential in my view.

Excellent product, but needs a bit of careful elbow grease. Excellent results. Delivered promptly.
This product removed all the layers of scuffed polish and dirt from a pair of boots, allowing me to apply conditioner and then cream. Boots now like new.
