ClearChoice CLCH100 4396508 Refrigerator Water Filter replaces Whirlpools expensive 4396508 Filter! This is the first filter I've found to do exactly what it said it would. I've searched and tried many aftermarket replacement filters to replace the expensive original filter and this one gets five stars! It actually performed better than the expensive filter at removing the fishy smell the water gets in the spring and summer months! This is my first one in this brand so quality across the board has not been determined yet however this filter has sold me with this brand for now and will continue using if quality remains! Very Happy With this purchase!!!!!

Money saver

I just moved into a house with a refrigerator that has an ice maker. So this is my first time replacing a filter. Replacement instructions were clear but what was not clear was whether I had to shut the water off to change the filter. That was not mentioned anywhere that I could see.

Somehow the first filter lasted until now; the change filter light just came on. That was 1 out of 3. Both #2 and #3 will not seal and are leaking water everywhere. This is pure junk. Installed in my Kitchen Aide side by side.Amazon sells this filter. They refuse to do anything even though this product's barcode goes back to discount filter who offers a no question money back guarantee.Now I find out the manufacturer will not back this product either. So they are using sold by Amazon to skirt any warranty or responsibility for suitability and performance as advertised. Clearly deceptive.Amazons deceptive selling practices eliminate warranties and guarantees. I'm filing complaints with the manufacturer and the FTC.

After one month this orks just as well as the name brand at a fraction of the cost - no problems so far....if it lasts as long as the name brand I'll give it 5 stars - but no complaints so far.

UPDATE Feb 24 2022: They FINALLY corrected the listing to 1pc. Thanks you Amazon. Up until a couple of days ago this listing / price was for a 6 pack.Listing CLEARLY indicates 6 filters per order. SHOULD have read the reviews more carefully before ordering, they shipped me one lonely filter. Seems like every 3rd order gets one instead of six. Where's the QC on this Amazon? How many people have to get their order slashed by 85% before you realize there is a problem?Am returning for a refund (yay Amazon) but took the time to call and point out the number of identical complaints = "Houston, there's a problem".
