A very welcome little device this was, for my bluray to Sony 29F2U surround sound in bedroom.Purchased 21st August but connected only 3 weeks ago, it has now developed connection problems;a vertical spectral curtain appears on screen (no connection) yet the audio is still present.This started a couple of days ago, 23/12/'16, as intermittent but is now permanent.It seems to be due to the unit's heat: 10 mins after starting Netflix .... Boomf! - Out!Have ordered seemingly same unit at cheaper price from different seller as there is no 'contact seller' available here,whether this be due to having purchased 4 mths ago I'm unsure, though it should still be returnable for such a short period and the price I paid.Checked EVERYTHING else - scart socket on TV, scart cable ... HDMI cable ... other DVD players in both scart socket and alternative sockets to make sure it wasn't the TV at fault ... All Fine! It's this unit.If new one works fine then this unit has a ridiculously short life span for just over £15 !!Probably the best thing to do is to unplug it when not in use, though this would be a bloody Faff for me, hand and knees behind the telly.Not Practical !I shall up-date this review when new unit arrives (£13 Prime) from other seller.

Firstly, the description states "Audio output format: Digital coaxial audio...". I took this to mean the unit has a separate digital audio coax output to plug into an AV amp. Please be aware before buying that IT DOES NOT. It may be that there are AV amps that have SCART inputs and digital audio can be input via one of these I don't know. Personally, I think the description is unclear at best.That said, I have decided to keep the unit as the Roku 1 box I am using it with has separate stereo outputs and it appears to do the job of converting an hdmi signal to SCART perfectly well and is probably as good as you're gonna get for the price. Just be aware that you might have difficulties getting digital surround sound if you're using an AV system. If you're just wanting to use an hdmi source with an older HD TV with SCART it's just the job.

This unit worked great for quite a few years then the picture started to drop out and I traced the fault to this unit which seemed to be running rather warm as well. Have replaced it with a similar looking device but the build quality looked better on this original unit. A pity that it ultimately failed after a few years of reliable work.

Bought this to send output from my Sky Q box to my DVD recorder, was sceptical that it would work, but I was proved wrong. It works fine. It converts the HDMI to Scart so my DVD recorder can do its job.

I bought this to connect a Blu-ray player to my CRT television. Initialy, I was not impressed. The picture was grainy (much worse than the TV signal) and darker colours had very bad contrast, so that darker scenes were reduced almost completely to black and difficult to see. I then moved the selector switch to "PAL" and the picture quality improved dramaticallly. The converter now works fine and appears to be reliable. The only remaining problem is the aspect ratio. DVD image is displayed correctly, but the player's menus and internet videos are cropped.

Bought this just before Xmas and it arrived 30 December. plugged it in and it worked straight away; perfect. After exactly 3 weeks it packed up. I got in touch with the seller at 11.00p.m. on Wednesday night and they replied early next day. They immediately dispatched a replacement which arrived today [ Monday ] first class customer service. Sadly the replacement doesn't work at all so I've now asked for a refund. It is well designed and simple but what the quality of the working parts are like I'm not sure.

Purchased this due to the 4 hdmi inputs on a 2015 Sony Bravia tv no longer working and save expense of repairing or purchasing a replacement TV. Simple to set up but no connecting cables are supplied to make sure you have them already. Other than the conversion box itself, the only other item included is an AC/DC adaptor to power the box. The one I received didn’t work but I was able to use a plug I already had to power the unit.Simple setup when using to connect a MacBook to TV. Obviously the picture quality is not as good as direct HDMI connection but cheaper than replacing the TV and good enough for the odd time I need to display the computer on a larger screen.
