Barry MCosmetics Matte Nail Paint, Top Coat

First off - I am a male so this review may offer a slightly different perspective!I play guitar and especially play classical guitar (which I have not done for literally decades (I'm in my 50s) and for which you do not use a pick). To play classical guitar well you need decent nails - and I have found that in the time since my teenage years, and with little to no care throughout, my nails have become brittle and split readily. This situation is made worse by the additional demands of playing the guitar!In the past few months, I've been going through a process of trial and error with different brands (some 'borrowed' from my other half) but the Barry M brand is my stand-out favourite. The main (and simple) reason for this is the wider, square-cut brush. This brush shape enables me to paint my nails efficiently and neatly with minimum waste - something that I haven't been able to do with other brands.I combine use of this matt top coat with the Barry M nail combined base-coat, top-coat and nail hardener (which also has the square-cut brush and which I also highly recommend) to make my nails look more natural (I was very self-conscious of the sheen).In use, the polish does exactly what I want - in reducing the exuberant shine of the nail to a more natural looking finish! seems to provide long-lasting protection to my nails.The varnish goes on easily and initially, dries pretty quickly - touch dry in as little as 5 minutes but note that it does seem to take a while to harden fully - possibly as long as 15minutes. This maybe because the varnish seems quite gloopy (thick) when applying.Results are excellent though - exactly what I was looking for; highly recommended!

I ran out of my favourite matte top coat by l'Oreal which was limited edition and is now discontinued. I have previously used lots of barry m polishes so thought I would give this matte top coat a go. The value for money is excellent you get a big bottle for £2.99 I find it does take slightly longer than the l'Oreal one to dry, but dries down to a gorgeous matte finish. I look forward to seeing how long it will take before It starts to wear off. The brush is also nice and thick meaning less strokes. Excellent so far!

I've never owned a matte top coat before but loved the look so I got this. Upon first putting it on it was flawless, drying time isn't too long and you can tell when it's fully dry because it goes- well it goes matte don't it. The finish is nice (as seen in my first 2 images) but over the next couple days it goes a little more shiny around the ends of the nail (see my last image). I expect it to slowly keep wearing off making the matte look more and more subtle. I'm not complaining though because this was cheap and it's absolutely not a bad product just maybe not rated so highly for longevity which is why I took off a star.

Wow wasn't expecting much for the price ,I do dip nails as allergic to gel ,but not using a top coat for a matte finish made my nails not last long!! I am really impressed with this matte top coat,2 coats and my shiny nails are gone,dried so quickly, people have mentioned that after a couple of days they start getting shiny again but I always do another coat of top every other day so doesn't bother me, recommend 😊

I bought this when I was creating a video on Easter egg nails. I didn’t want to waste money on matte nail polish in different colours as I’m not a fan of matte nails. So, I bought this top coat. It definitely does wonders on shiny nail polishes and make them matte. I would definitely recommend if you’re a lover of matte nail polish.

After reading some of the reviews on this BarryM Matte Topcoat I wasn’t sure if it was going to be what I was looking for but for the price I thought there was no harm in giving it a try.I painted my nails with a gel effect nail polish and applied one coat of this topcoat I could see my nails turning from a high gloss shine to completely matte in a matter of seconds.Does what it says on the bottle and would recommend. Would definitely purchase again, great value for money and I will come back and let you know how long it’s lasts!

Partner says its decent stuff, strong, and easy to apply. The stuff stinks though but I don't know if this is normal for this, as it doesn't smell like normal nail varnish, it's a very strong scent

I love this product. I normally use OPI but this one is much better. The polish goes on easily, and I’ve had it on for 3 days and still no chips or peeling. It’s a velvety matte, and works well with the 3 colours I’ve tried it with so far. The brush is a perfect size for easy application, and the bottle size is good too.
