Well built and accurate
This is a very high quality planer. Obviously the price point suggests that, but it is really solid. It is roughly the same price point as the Dewalt 13 inch and with the spiral cutter to me it is the better option at this price point. There is hardly any snipe at all and it chews through wood at 1/16 depth like it’s nothing. I haven’t max cut anything at 1/8 depth, but considering this things power, it would probably handle it easily. One thing to consider, this thing draws a solid 14-15 amps when under load. Be cautious of how much you have on the circuit you use it on. Otherwise, awesome tool.

Great addition.
Before inflation, was at a great price and is worth the buy. Powerfull. Noise, but they all are. Dust collection could be better. It leaks a bit from the faying surfaces.

Smooth and relatively quiet
Leaves planes surface smooth and even. Much quieter and smoother than my old DeWalt.

The Supersized Lunchbox Planer - But has Cutter Limits
I recently ordered a Jet 20" planer, only to find out the earliest ship date was 6-9 months out. I had projects I needed to complete and my Dewalt planer died. I've done limited work with this model so far, but this is what I liked:1. This is not the typical lunchbox planer, it is heavy and well built/designed.2. Initial snipe was very limited and more due to the warped boards I was testing.3. The planed surface is smooth; I was worried with the multiple cutter heads (any slight deviation would leave grooves).4. The dust collection part was designed to be taken off/put on for minimizing the storage needed. This was really a good design feature in my opinion, as my space is limited and this worked well.5. Overall, the dust/chips not being collected are far less than the Dewalt. This part seems to work well, although not perfect.6. I've not tested the "preset" thickness settings, but this is a nice feature.7. It has a depth locking lever, which would ideally keep the depth from moving due to vibrations or accidentally hitting the lever.Updated Review - After running around 100 bd feet through it was still performing well, but I hit a nail hidden in a board. Important note: The cutters can only be used TWICE, not like many others which can be rotated four times. When rotating the damaged cutter, I rotated, screwed it back it, and it completely cracked in half. Since it did not come with any spares, I had to order 10 additional cutters and, unfortunately, they were only the special replacements at almost $80. Had I known these were not standard cutters, I'm not sure I would have purchased the planer. I should be good for awhile once the order arrives, but they should have included a few spares just in case.

Out of the Box and Running
I needed a planer for milling down a bunch of rough cut hemlock boards as i wanted a better finish on the outside of these garden boxes i was making . I removed it from the box and got it onto a portable stand , i went through the instructions and watched a short video , with 20 minutes of taking it from the box i was planing down ten 8 foot hemlock planks -- it worked perfectly and generated fantastic results with only minor adjustment required depending on board thickness. Great device and a real time saver.
