Spear & Jackson BWF14 3/4" 2 Way Brass Tap Connector

Easy to use and does what it should.

I have had something almost identical before, and to be fair it lasted quite a while and then the winter weather meant the thread sheered. The difference however that is clear instantly on receiving this one, is the fit. The main screw thread secures really well and no leaks. With the previous one I had to use plumbers tape and it still started a slow leak after a few months. Also where the hose attaches there are no drips on this one, so feels so much better made. It was nearly double the price, but glad I made that call, I think it will save on water loss, and probably last more than twice as long.

I'm pretty fussy when it comes to the quality of things. I very nearly bought one of the cheaper chinese versions of this, but am glad I looked at reviews. This is of very high quality construction and the valves turn with a satisfying smooth and direct action. very pleased.

If you want to have two outputs from one external tap, this gets the job done nicely. No leaks, solidly made. Having the individual valves is useful if you need to make sure you can get full power to one side or the other though we haven't bothered. We have two hoses, one to do the upper patio near the house (with an extendable hose) and the other to water the main garden (with a hose reel). Works perfectly.Valves are quite stiff (mostly a good thing) and fairly small so if you have limited hand capability, they might be hard to use. But as said, you might not need to anyway.Probably a good idea to take this off for the winter and occasionally apply silicon grease to the o-rings. If yours starts leaking, the o-rings are most likely the issue, replace with new and keep them out of sun and freezing, occasionally apply silicon grease.

This is a great quality tap accessory. It's sturdy and the valves are smooth and easy to turn on and off. I highly recommend switching all garden hose accessories to brass. I used to use hozelock / plastic connectors and was constantly standing in water that leaked from all of them. I have now switched to all brass and have no leaks any where. We have this setup so that one permanently connected hose is connected to the greenhouse watering system, and the other is left spare for watering the garden or connecting other watering accessories too.I would have preferred that the male connectors were unscrew able rather than part of the fixture but this was personal preference and it still warrants a full 5 stars.

A very solid, well made product that feels as if it will last a long time. I am very pleased with it.

I have been using this type of tap connecter for years. They do not last forever but they work really well and I always buy two at a time to have one in reserve. Perhaps it would last longer if I did not leave it in place on the tap in winter but I need to use it all year round. I do try to protect it but when it get very cold clearly the water freezes and damages the seal. Would recommend though for anyone who uses two hosepipes!

Strong, reliable and works, I bought a plastic hose lock one and it was leaky as hell and had to return it. This is solid sturdy and works great. It also hoselock comparable for attachements !
