Good quality pet blanket
Worked great for pet, kept bedding dry. It was very absorbent for a 75lb incontinent dog. I use these blankets now as an extra barrier for my GSD and upholstery in my car and home.

Must have with older dogs
With 2 older dogs, both suffering from incontinence we’ve tried a lot of puppy pads. These are by far the best. We have purchased many of the 72x72 size to cover the carpet in their areas and started also wrapping their large dog beds in them. This lets us wash the pads instead of the bed cover and has extended the life of the dog beds. The pads have never leaked through, even when the dogs spilled an entire bowl of water. They wash well. They do take a long time to dry and work better if dried on medium or medium-high. If you set the dryer on high the backing can separate from the soft top layer. They still work but are not as easy to keep in place. Ours go through near daily washing and we’ve had them over six months now, still holding up great.

Best for Smaller Breeds
First, I want to point out, I have two dogs that use this mat: a small puppy, chihuahua mix, and a 5 month Belgian Malinois. This mat does a good job of absorbing pee for smaller breeds. I've noticed I can see dampness when my Mali does his business on it, but nothing when the little pup does his business. As per durability, the hem has already been gnawed off and ripped up. Thankfully there has been no fraying of the hem, otherwise we'd have just one more mess to clean up and call another product a total loss. Again, I think this a great for smaller breeds.Washing ability--it washes fine, though I have noticed I need to "power wash" (2.5 hour cycle) to get the urine smell out. This is in addition to other products used to neutralize the odor.Would I buy this product again? Yes. It has saved us a lot of time of cleaning up ripped up pee pads. I really wish it was more absorbent for my Mali's lake-sized pee-pees. I look forward for the company checking this issue out and creating a better product.

New and improved?
We purchased one of these mats in 2020 for a geriatric cat who can't seem to tuck her butt into the litter box when she pees. My carpet cleaner begged for a break, so I looked into options and found this waterproof mat. We place it under the litter box to catch any spills. It (still!) works great save for the one issue noted by previous reviewers: the backing separates away and it becomes a bit of a pain. A pain when you wash/dry it and a pain when you try to lay it out flat on the floor. (My mat is still waterproof, despite the separation of material, several months of use, cat claws, and regular washing/drying.)Fast forward to 2021 when I decided to get a backup mat for when the first was in the wash. The new mat is identical to the first one except the backing feels different. I think the manufacturer used feedback to improve the product. After numerous washings/dryings (I dry mine in the dryer on low or no heat even though it recommends air drying), the backing has not pulled away from the cover material at all. So we get all the protection of the first mat without a wonky, misshapen underside to fight with--a great improvement!EDIT: I'm back to purchase a replacement for that first mat. It's like the inner layer isn't secure to the rest of the mat, and it has shifted considerably to the point where I'm not convinced it's protecting my carpet. The second mat looks and feels like the day we bought it, even after washing it 2-3x a week for several months. If your mat retains a urine smell, look into enzyme cleaners. We use a spray for various pet accidents around the house. Spray the mat, let it sit for an hour or so (away from pets and kids), and then wash. We learned the hard way with our carpet cleaner that soap alone often won't get rid of urine because it can't break it down like enzyme cleaners can.

Mixed Feelings
I have opened a return for this item and plan to find another to replace it. The item is just really expensive for the quality. I've only had it for less than a week and I already notice places where the stitching looks undone and the fabric itself just looks relatively cheap. It does seem to be water resistant, but I don't have confidence that it would last longUPDATE:while I do still have the same qualms with the product seams and feel of the product, it is far easier to clean than the other playmat blanket that I tried, and smells much better after a wash. While I am still on the lookout for a better replacement, I changed my star rating to 4 stars as I have yet to find a better functional replacement. I cannot give the product 5 stars as it does not have the same seams as the photos show. It is a much thinner blanket.UPDATE:Still have not found a better blanket, and this thing has been a lifesaver recently. I upgraded to 5 stars.

Love the size, but not leak proof.
Hard for my husky pup to miss this one. He uses it regularly. I have to wash it daily on work days, but is not leak proof. The urine does seep through, so be prepared to bissel the carpet. I bought a clear plastic table cloth slightly larger than training pad . I then lay the training pad on top of that and has eliminated the moisture seepage to my carpet. I very rarely have any accidents on my bedroom carpet where he stays while I'm at work. Wish they made them completely leak proof.

Good buy!
The media could not be loaded. I'm really glad I bought this. I hated having to mop the floor every day because they'd leave there little paw prints on the floor and lets not forget the spilled water or pee. I got the 72x72. I really would've loved it if there was a 2 72×72 pack since it only covered half of their play pen so please make it happen :) Also, It really does stick to the floor. It's not poorly made. It's straight and even. I recommend it! I also like that it provides cushion to their little paws 🐾 which is great for jumping dachshunds. Bennie and Luna like it. I haven't washed it yet but i think it will probably last longer if it's not thrown in the dryer. I'm going to just let it air dry.
