Great 2-in-1 protection for the whole family :)
We got this for our trip to Tunisia as mosquitoes usually love me and it seemed a good option for our cream-averse wriggly toddler to combine SPF and repellent. We did not get bitten, which is fantastic, though we also used other repellents too (including Avon Skin So Soft dry oil, unopened, a few years old so I don't know if it was before some formula change others have mentioned). We also weren't in an area with lots of mozzies though clearly some other tourists at our hotel had been bitten. Therefore, I can't say 100% that our lack of bites was completely due to this repellent. I do recommend this 'arsenal of repellents' approach if you feel you're at risk of being bitten a lot! However, I still give it 5 stars, because although we primarily got this for toddler, we adults ended up using it regularly (along with us adults using the dry oil post-shower)! When we used it, none of us got sunburnt or bitten. We were in 35 to 41 degree sun and toddler used the outdoor pool with short sleeved swimming costume. The best thing about this product is that it does not have the unpleasant stickiness or pungent smell that you typically get with sun screen and repellent - it is more like a milk than a cream. If the chemically smell and stickiness tends to make you feel unclean, then it is worth getting for a comfortable holiday in which you won't be deterred from regular reapplying. Although there is some separation of the product in the heat (despite shaking the bottle), it still seemed effective. The bottle size also appeals making it easy to carry around in my small handbag and for small hands to use too. Because the product is expensive and there isn't that much of it, once it went dark, I reverted to other repellents we had bought, both chemically and non-chemically ones. Of all the products we bought, I'm most likely to get this one again if in a high risk zone and because of squirmy toddler.

Great 2-in-one
Took this to India for 22 days and it certainly worked well for an effective sun cream and as I only got bitten twice which may not have even been mosquitoes, I believe it to be an effective mozzie deterrent too! Mozzies usually like me for lunch and dinner so I used it on my face as protection against mozzies in the evening plus a Deet product just to make doubly sure but as others in my party were bitten, I would definitely recommend it. It smells pleasant and isn't greasy either.

Avon finally marketing their Skin So Soft as a repellent - and it works brilliantly
Took this to Colombia with me and it worked a treat, both as a sunblock and an insect repellent. The only time I was bitten was when I wasn't using it, and it protected me against searing mountain sun extremely well. It will separate though, so make sure to give it a really good shake before applying it.

Used in a hot country the contents needed shaking before use as it separated so oily substance splurted out first when squeezed. Not unpleasant smell, used in conjunction with other mosquito repellents so hard to tell how effective it was on it's own but it was helpful not to need an additional sun cream. I have only scored 3 as I found it quite messy to use

Not as it should be!
I used this once then noticed it leaked oil. On the second attempt to use it, the formula had clearly split into oil at the top and cream at the bottom. In my opinion this renders the product ineffective and potentially unsafe as it is not clear which medium contains the active ingredient. I notified the seller who said they had never had this complaint before. I suggest they read the previous reviews! One infected insect bite later tells the story.

This worked well for me in a mosquito epidemic! Expensive but effective.

It works (but isn’t cheap)
I am sure I have written a review on this before - feedback has gone nuts in society right now. Anyway expensive but it works ; I haven’t been burned nor bitten in 2 months (& I work outdoors in woodland & fields)

It works, sort of
Bought this specifically for a trip to Scotland to fend of the notorious midges. I was only bit once on a 3 day trip, doesn't keep the swarms away but at least I wasn't eaten alive.

Smells nice, and feels comfortable on the skin. Product seperates and leaks- keep it in it's own plastic bag.
It works, but it leaks. The oil in this product separated and was leaking out of the tube. It felt nice on the skin and I think it helped ward off some mosquitoes. I've only used it once and I like how it wasn't sticky and didn't leave a horrible residue. Will keep using this the rest of this summer to see if it helps ward mosquito bites.I have shake the tube up a lot to mix the product together-- and if it sits more than a few hours-- it separates again. I checked the expiration date and it says Dec. 2016...so I'm not sure what's causing this separation.

Works pretty well for bugs without oily mess
I live in Texas and I like to garden and go outdoors in general. In the morning, almost all year, we have mosquitos. We also have a lot of sun. I have tried the dry sprays (and nearly been choked by the forceful over-spray), Deet products, you name it.I keep going back to this product. I like the lotion because, with the exception of part of my back, it will go where I want it and no where else. It has a pleasant smell and is not greasy like other products, so I can wear it to work or out in the evening without feeling self-conscious. I like ordering it from Amazon because sometimes it is not available direct from Avon. They don't carry it during the non-summer months.Keep backup bottles in the frig (to keep it's potency) and keep a bottle of this in the tackle box or tool box, and kill two problems with one product.

It's really annoying to layer on a ton of sunscreen
I have worked outside for many years in Florida. It's really annoying to layer on a ton of sunscreen, plus bug spray, and then have to keep reapplying and watch your skin break out as you keep adding oil after oil. I do not remember who first recommended this to me, but they deserve a gold star. This lotion has been so great to my skin over the past few years. It goes on easy, it rubs in cleanly and does not (for me anyway) leave any greasy residue behind. Reapplication isn't as big a hassle as a result. It has kept the no-see-ums off my legs as well, which for me makes it worth its weight in gold. I absolutely love this product and will continue to use it as long as it's on the market!

So greasy, ended up tossing it out
I like the concept of this product (hey, sunscreen and repellent! Sounds great in theory) so, based on good reviews, I bought a couple of bottles for our 3-week trip through Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. But it ended up being so greasy, that I was forced to toss it after a week. The grease separated from the cream, leaked out into my backpack, and made everything disgusting. At the beginning I tried to deal with it, and packed it into two plastic bags. The grease ate through BOTH plastic bags, and still leaked into my backpack. Plus, plastic bags were printed with a design, and it made all the ink runny and my backpack and my hands were also covered with ink stains.Applying it on your skin is another gross experience. We were bike riding through Vietnamese countryside, the sun was very strong and this sunscreen was my only hope. It made my hands, again, so greasy that I could barely hold on to the bike's handle bars. Hot weather makes it all runny and it has a consistency of water. Sun screen that doesn't hold up in hot weather? Yep, this is it.So, does it work? I guess, but who cares. I was too preoccupied with stopping at random bathrooms to wash my hands and cleaning off my backpack. As soon as I could find some regular sunscreen in a Vietnamese convenience store, I tossed Skin So Greasy in the trash. My advice - use regular sunscreen along with a separate spray-on repellent. Don't go for the combo, you'll probably regret it.I want my money back.
