Bose ® 251 Environmental Speakers - Black

Well they are Bose so never disappointed!! Fixing and mount adjustment was easy. Bass response is better than expected for an outdoor environment but wasn’t overpowering. Definitely better than the 151 model for bass response but as always very clear sound.

Bose...nothing more to say.. i have had these in my garden for a number of yrs. rain,snow,wind.and still going strong. the sound is clear and the bass is perfect. infract i am going to purchase another set. would highly recommend.. you will not regret buying them... and no.....i am not sponsored by bose. lol.

Love love love!!! They are amazing no matter what the volume- the clarity is fantastic outside. I do prefer them on a table or floor than wall mounted.

I put off buying these for a year or so due to the images I found online of the units with the grills removed. From then on I thought the only drivers in these were 2 tiny Bose twiddler drivers (look them up). It was only after seeing a cross section of one at a Bose store that I realised there was infact a far meatier woofer concealed inside an acoustic chamber within the unit! As the twiddlers were the only things putting me off, I pounced on the computer to get myself a few pairs! I have all 3 pairs mounted around my garden (on trees/in bushes) and I have never been happier to go and sit on the lawn and relax! The Bose bashers will go on about 'no highs, no lows' but at the end of the day, they give out a really enjoyable sound that I myself have been looking for for the last few years! We are quite close to the sea so anything outdoors never tends to last very long but these have been rust free ever since I bought them. One last thing, the other tuesday I had a garden party and was considering renting a pa system; out of intrest I cranked these up and was suprised to find they could handle it! £160 saved in rental costs! Even i you're not looking to get multiple pairs like me, these are totally worth getting just as a stereo pair, you have my word!

Great sounding speaker and stands up to outdoor use. This was replacing another Bose outdoor setup I had for 15 years - and still going strong so I know Bose make these things to last. One drawback - there is no security bolts on these or way to secure them. So there is a risk depending on where mounted they are open to theft.

Had these speakers for about five years sound is terrific but if you are near the sea and salt air then the plastic caps at the back and the cable connectors rot and crumble. Best answer and too late for at least one of my speakers was to cover the connections with Vaseline and reapply occasionally. That said I have bought them again as sound quality excellent!

Bought these 1 year ago and having just tried them of first day of sunshine sound has turned fuzzy. Tested cabling, amp and speakers separately so definitely speakers. Installed in the proscribed way but now sound is unlistenable. Never mind I thought, they have a 5 year warranty but when I went I Bose website and entered serial number I was told the product was out of warranty but I could pay £79 to have them fixed! Plan to call Bose tomorrow but can only imagine they’ve been sitting in amazon warehouse for 4 years +...terrible

First off, I have to say I've never been a huge Bose fan, but I liked the looks of the 251's, and read some good reviews, so I thought I'd give them a try. I am pleasantly suprised how great these speakers sound! Build quality is excellent, and they were easy to install, as I was replacing my existing Teac outdoor speakers with the Bose, so the wiring was all in place. I've installed these speakers on the wall in a BBQ alcove I have right out my back door, which may give it the extra bass that some reviewers say was lacking. The sound is crisp and clear, with no distortion even at high volume. I have them connected to a Pioneer VSX1020 receiver with 110 watts, which power these speakers with ease! They also sound good at lower levels too, but they do come to life when you crank them a bit! Overall a great purchase, and a HUGE upgrade over my current outdoor speakers. You can't go wrong with these! Installation tip -I would suggest to leave a minimum of 6 inches from the top of your eaves/soffit to the top drill holes in the bracket. This gives enough room to rotate the speaker upwards without hitting the ceiling (this is not mentioned in the installation instructions).

After many reviews and watching tons of video reviews on the Bose 251 Wall Mount Outdoor Environmental Speakers, I finally decided to pull the trigger and purchase them for my wife's Christmas present (back in 2020). It's January 2023 and I am writing this review because I wanted to give them a couple of season's use before I offered my two cents. I wound up getting them in White and actually had my electrician install them and run the speaker wire. Let me give you my honest assessment. The sound today is as crystal clear as it was when the were installed. We put them on our deck to provide music to our in ground pool area and it exceeded expectations. The music reaches our entire backyard, driveway and side yard area. The sound is like I am at a concert, but even better. These were the exactly what I hoped for and even better. We have had no issues, and the white still looks brand new. I would highly recommend these if you are on the fence. We hooked the speakers to the Bose SoundTouch SA-5 Amplifier, which allows us to use our smart phones to play music - so simple. I often don't rave about a product, but this one deserves it.

Wir haben uns 4 dieser Lautsprecher für die Terrasse und Garten zusammen mit einem "Bose ® SoundTouch SA-5 Amplifier schwarz" angeschafft. Die Installation: Installiert wurden diese von einem Elektriker an einer Hauswand. Da lange Wegstrecken an Kabel zurückgelegt werden mussten, verwendeten wir dem Klang zuliebe 2.5mm Kupferkabel (Flache Version für Wandmontage). Ein größerer Kabelquerschnitt war aufgrund der engen Buchsen des Bose Amplifiers leider nicht möglich (Angabe max. 2.4mm). Die Lautsprecher haben einen Abstand von jeweils ca. 2m. Die Musik wird über die Spotify App über das Haus-Wlan angesteuert, da die originale Bose App mit Android Geräten häufig abgestürzt ist. Der Amplifier ist direkt mit dem Router per Lan (Leitung: ca. 98mbit/sek) angeschlossen. Die Musikqualität: Der Klang ist für Außenlautsprecher ziemlich eindrucksvoll. Die Lautsprecher sind recht gut abgestimmt, wobei die Boxen leider bei etwas höherer Lautstärke leicht zum Übersteuern und hörbarem Vibrieren neigen. Für eine Gartenlounge ein perfekter Einsatz, für z.B. eine Gartenparty muss man jedoch erwartungsgemäß auf eine P.A. Anlage zurückgreifen. Insgesamt sind wir sehr zufrieden, da diese sich an der Häuserwand optisch schön eingliedern und eine gute Arbeit verrichten! Negative Punkte sind nur die kleinen Buchsen an dem Amplifier (die Buchsen an den Lautsprechern sind meines Wissens komischerweise größer) und das Übersteuern und die Vibrationen bei "lauterer" Musik, was jedoch auch teilweise am Amplifier liegen könnte. Eine klare Kaufempfehlung!
