Yukon NVMT Spartan 3X42 Binoculars

I thought it was new and unused, so I was surprised to find a battery already inserted in it and that the box was a bit tatty. However the scope looked mint. It performed well, I tested it in the fields and the woods, and for the money I thought it was really good. It doesn't turn night into day of course. But for identifying the wildlife around you it worked a treat if you already know what your looking for. You have to give time for your eyes to adapt and practice with the focusing, but once you hit the sweet spot with this images can be surprisingly good and that's on normal mode. Its only X 3 so I wasnt expecting much detail at distance. But its good enough at close range maybe 30 - 50 metres and gives a pretty nice overall view with the 32 mm lens. The I R is OK at close range seems to illuminate the first thing it hits upon. On the whole I thought this was really good value, covers my needs adequately, and was a bit of a bargain. I does need looking after though, no bright lights, but I was only going to use it in natural darkness anyway.

Originally bought the Bresser NightVision 5x50 (see review) but this was useless so swapped it for the Yukon. The 3x zoom is much better than a 5X zoom because most people just want to see in the dark so the 3X zoom magnification is adequate and gives a much better and larger image. This product is very easy to use. The body is made of rubber and is very robust. Would have given 5 stars but was disappointed that it did not come with a battery (CR123A), bought pack of 2 from local supermarket for under £4 so couldn't see why at this price they were not included. Overall a great product, easy to use with great results.

my kids love this you can see realy good in the dark and even clear in the realy dark places. up to 100 meters .Im going on holiday soon so this would be a realy good treat for my kids to experiment with and. i would realy recomend this to any one came on timegood servise 10/10

This was bought for my son to take to South Africa.

This is easy to set up and use. I have bought a tripod to mount in use. As long as you are realistic about the kind of image you are expecting it is fine.

don't expect hollywood style/cinema image night vision, a gadget really, but hey who wouldn't want this , good for general use only

Pretty basic Night Vision. Can barely see a few meters.

Was given one of these for Christmas two years ago, worked fine and was great fun. After very few uses it stopped working. I replaced the battery - no luck so I contacted Yukon who told me to contact Thomas Jacks - the Uk importer who are their appointed repairers. Tried several times to contact them but they don't respond. Very disappointing considering this equipment only worked for about forty minutes in total.
