Works very well for my purposes.
I required a motor to power a carving chisel. This works well. It can also convert to a miniature wood lathe max diameter about 2”. You would probably need to clamp the base to the bench for this. I made a couple of small brackets to do this. Just accept that this is a small machine and take care not to overload it.

Abysmal
Too weak to turn even the smallest section of wood. Vibrates badly and even the saw blade feature is useless. Not worth even considering!

Good machine with limitations
Ok, I've not used a lathe in 24 years and wanted something small to get my eye back in and make some toys for a local nursery and childs hospital. Now. The lathe works fine, decent rpm out of the motor, has a gd amount of torque for its size. The speed control is on the power pack which is useful and keeps the motor casing free of switches and other things that will limit interior space and effect cooling. You'll see the same photo on a few different reviews as I used new products to turn it. That chess peice took me about an hour again decent little machine and good kit for what you pay. There are a few limitations though. The tools you get with the kit, they are carving tools and not turning tools, the steel used is around 1mm thick or roughly 24guage this makes them unsuitable for turning wood. They catch quite often and feel really fragile. This being said I managed to use the v shaped tool for some of the finer detail on this pawn but very lightly used. The spindle used to attach the wood and chuck is ok, the biggest problem with it, and this is the only problem with the machine I have had is it's a screw thread. This means that if you get a catch and the chuck is still spinning, if it spins that screw it can keep screwing into the wood because of the pressure of the live centre at the other end.The main rest for the tools doesn't move inwards far enough but again as much as this is awkward and feels very limiting due to it's small length with some proper tools it can be negated and doesn't impede anything. The saw works well, high speed steel blade will cut through wood easily enough. The limitation is if you are cutting some wood along the length of the saw and your moving past the blade towards the chuck. The wood will hit the chuck before going through the blade if too long. Now we must remember this is a bead lathe so it is built and designed for small objects. Again not an issue with the machine just a hard limit of what you can cut.I've had no bother with the other parts that came with. The calipers being plastic I would use for rough estimates and I wouldn't guarantee their accuracy.Decent little machine with some good kit, I'd reccomend some other tools and look for a pointed spindle, I'll be reviewing one soon. Other than that it's a decent bit of kit and id be happy to have a chat with the manufacturers on any of these points.

Excellent mini lathe
Bought this as a present & I’ve seen what it can do. The tools are the only weak point but they’re easily upgraded.

Waste of money
This machine is not fit for its purpose and creates loud sound vibrates too much can cause accident if not affixed on base. It doesn’t come with any base fitting and also the chucks are basic and doesn’t grip so no beads or etc home hobby products can be made. It’s better to spend more money and buy a machine which has features and would be value for money. This machine is only a decoration piece.
