I bought this left-handed pen for my daughter because she was struggling to hold a normal pen properly. This pen has been a real saviour. The grip helps guide her fingers into the correct position, which made it much easier for her to start writing comfortably. Since using it, her writing has improved and she feels much more confident. A great pen for left-handed children who are learning to write.

Great product, its a pity the Amazon driver does'nt know the difference between 218 ( wIth a big GIBNEY on the post box ) & 220, but got it in the end ! Cheers

I bought this for my left-handed nine-year-old, who has terrible handwriting, and we have been doing writing practice exercises at home with it. It has a sort of a curvy shape and three very specific dents to put the thumb and fingertips in, so it has been very helpful in improving her grip and getting her to relax her wrist and her fingers when she's writing. I can really see where everything is supposed to go, and can help her to get it all in the right place and at the right tension. The ink comes out relatively easy, but it does sometimes go dry when my daughter's writing, for no apparent reason, and takes a little scribbling on scrap paper to restart. This is frustrating. It doesn't happen when I write with the pen, and we've checked to see if it's the angle she's holding it at, but there doesn't seem to be a specific cause behind it, so my daughter can't prevent it. This does interfere with her concentration on her exercises.

This pen offers excellent value for money. Its smudge resistance is superb, with no smudges at all. The quality of writing is high, resulting in clearer text. The design is ideal for young children, adolescents, and adults with learning disabilities, and its size is perfectly suited for pencil cases.

Excellent for a 4 year old left handed great grandson and 3 year old right handed great granddaughter [Blue and Pink]. I label printed their names for each pen barrel which they can see when writing and should help them with spelling their names. They are easy to hold, durable and perfect for all hand shapes and sizes. Whilst I prefer the flow of a fountain pen or papermate ink joy I have had this stabilo for many years and it is clear they will teach the little ones how to grip a pen correctly.
