These salt and pepper mills are "state of the art" when compared to previous mills I have used. They are a good weight in my hands, feel solid, and grind salt and pepper exceptionally well with five different settings for size/coarseness of ground salt and pepper. They are designed, engineered and built to last - by a car manufacturer no less!

These were quite expensive, but are excellent in use, best I've had so far. Love the adjustment ability

There salt and pepper mills. They mill salt and pepper very nicey and seem constructed to do so for a lifetime. The bottom adjustment seems stable and innovative, no more constantly fiddling the the wandering top adjustments of old.One star off though for some minor drawbacks.The hula hoop of wood that is the base and adjustment collar is quite thin and potentially a weak spot. Don't slam these down on the table and expect them to survive without cracking that wooden collar It's a shame this bit of the design doesn't feel more robust.The adjustment range doesn't go quite as coarse as I'd like, neither for salt not pepper. A slight niggle short of a solid recommendation.The top nuts seem inferior painted metal that just doesn't quite measure up to the build quality of the mechanisms. It's a shame. Solid stainless steel or brass nuts with big inlaid enamel black and while IDs would really bring and heirloom quality that's unfortunately missing. As it is they feel compromised by some low cost design choices.Decent, but I expected a tad better

Beautiful set, great quality wood, and makes people jealous. Durability and quality are obvious. I especially like how there are 6 different setting on both grinders. When you need to feel like a chef, this is one of those tools to do it. Ah yes, setting number 3, perfect for bolognese. One drawback is that quite often the peppercorns do not fully engage with the grinder, so it needs to be shaken to get it to catch. Otherwise, no complaints. You can have any grind size you want from teeny tiny, to big boy flakes. I like them all.The nicest part is honestly how it looks and feels. They stay in the kitchen at home, but could just as easily be used on the dining table for guests. The wood is sturdy and gives a nice weight to them without being overly heavy or too light.

The salt mill adjuster has broken after only 4 months. Waste of money in the end.

Classic design, manual grinders that you can adjust by rotating the base. They feel just right and are comfortable to just grab and use as you cook.

Lovely wood, good mechanism, great quality.
