Wow, just wow!!
I am a huge fan of Sue Watson & this is another of her 5* reads. This is a brilliant, twisty domestic noir thriller & the final twist just blew me away. As another reviewer pointed out, the cover & the words accompanying it were a bit misleading & the story wasn't what I was expecting but still a brilliant story.

Good plot but I was a little confused …
So I get the plot - single mother running away from her past which is obviously catching up with her - her friend Nancy is the one that confused me…. The timescale of her ‘romance’ from being dumped and to him meeting Emily did not work out for me … and led me to question and re-read a few sections - I still think the timing is ‘off’ but after reading reviews no one else appears to have the same thoughts ???But overall it is a good story line - drawn out in parts but I think that was probably needed and the ending was OMG i didn’t guess that!! I’ve only given lower star because of the nancy confusion.

Addictive
First book by sue , certainly not the last. Lovec the way it continually threw twists when I thought it was finished. Straight onto sister in law now, can't beat a good thriller

Very slow
Struggled to finish this book , have read quite a few of this authors books and enjoyed them but found this one slow and badly written.

Wow. An excellent read
I absolutely loved this book. It was a thrilling unusual tale but well put together. I love Sue Watsons books. The best psychological thriller I have read for a while.

Great thriller
I did enjoy the majority of this book and it was easy to read. It was a thriller and the surprises kept coming and there was a good twist at the end.The one thing I didn't like was the constant " if only I knew what was coming" it was unnecessary in my view and this sort of phrase was at the end of nearly every chapter. The story is of a single mother and her daughter, who has a past, where they have run away from the family home to a seaside town, settling in with the help of the vicar and a lovely couple. When Sophia starts messaging someone online and her behaviour changes towards her mother, Emily knows that something is wrong and her secrets may come out. With a drunken best friend, an over protective employer and potential a new man in her life, can Emily get things back on track with Sophia before the past catches up with them.I would recommend this book as it is good 😊

Twisty, brilliantly plotted thriller from the queen of the psychological thriller
I always hugely look forward to Sue's books and so couldn't wait to get started on this one!The story begins with Emily and her teenage daughter, Sofia who have recently moved from up North to Sidmouth to escape their troubled past. Having settled in their new seaside resort, suddenly Sofia begins acting strangely and sinister notes start arriving. Emily fears that someone has discovered her secret, which could ruin everything she holds dear.I loved this book and was immediately sucked into the intriguing, slow building suspense. Sue has such a clever way of writing that leaves you not knowing who you can believe or trust and throughout, there's a definite underlying menace that kept me eagerly turning the pages.I half guessed part of the back story, but just when you think everything has been explained, the author throws in yet another twist, which left me reeling!A brilliantly written, tensely plotted thriller, which I highly recommend to all!

A bit far fetched
I know that this book is fictional but Gee Whiz! Way too much unbelievable nonsense. The title is completely misleading. It has absolutely nothing to do the the main character having a baby taken. At all.
