Aimtech 12 in 1 Professional Network Computer Maintenance Repair Tools Kit(AIMT1401)

First the good. The cable tester is great and saved me a few times while wiring up my home recently. I don't know how I would have located the problems (usually bad punchdowns on single wires) without it. The crimping tool is also very good, working well on both stranded and solid core cable. The screwdrivers are ok - much better quality than some similar (cheaper) kits anyway. The various wire cutters are also fine.Now the not so good. The RJ45 connectors work but they are poor quality, with the part that holds the whole cable in place being weak and prone to breakage. I bought some better connectors elsewhere. The punchdown tool is very plasticy and generally pretty awful. It sort of works, as in it punches down the wire successfully, but I just completed 9 wall panels with it (i.e. 72 punchdowns) and it didn't automatically trim the cable once. I imagine a separate ~£10 tool would be much better.All in all I'm happy for the price I paid.

The media could not be loaded.  Brilliant bit of kit, has everything in it (including RJ45 plugs, though no boots, which isn't *that* big a deal if you are going to only be unplugging your ethernet cable once in a blue moon anyway) to make your own ethernet cables to run from your router to your PC to get a far better hardwired broadband signal.Was a bit worried it'd be a little cheap and nasty, but ordered anyway as I needed it to get out of trouble, and turns out my fears were unfounded. It's not on the level of professional kit, but isn't far away from it, and certainly good enough if you are running cables around your house rather than using it daily as part of your job.Hope the video is useful as well :-)

Excellent kit for the money. First ive bought after constantly being stuck in the false economy of pre-made ethernet leads. Its actually very easy to do after a couple of practice runs! The crimp tool is good quality and worth its weight in gold. The electronic tester is also a nice tool. Does need a PP9 battery though to power it. Not used most of the other kit as im not sure what it does yet!

I would not buy this for use professionally, but ideal for someone who is likely to only need it occasionally. I bought it as present for someone who doing up his house, and was cabling it up IT and media. He loved it!

Basic telecomms tool kit handy to have

I'm not an expert but this kit provided more than I neededto enable me to make up and test my own network and aerial cables.Very happy with the reduced clutter behind the TV also.

would have been nice to include some cable boots any way nice product

A tool for all occasions,wish I had bought this kit earlier.
