Enamel Bowl Set - Dish Set of 2 Bowls - Enamelware Set for Camping and Everyday Use (Mint)

When my husband suggested enamelware to use in the RV, I thought he was crazy. I wanted durable but I didn’t want ugly. Then I saw these and fell in love! Once they arrived I fell even deeper! The green on this set (we ordered two sets of each plate and two sets of bowls) is soft and beautiful with a nice speckle throughout. The texture is slight, making me think of the texture of a smooth clay pot. And the brassy color of the rims is gorgeous! I don’t have any discoloration in any of my rims. I know because of the metal these are not microwaveable, but I didn’t feel comfortable with the idea of plastic or wheat plates (that can get damaged when microwaving anyways) or breakable plates. So, we figure if we need to microwave food, we will do that on paper plates and then set the paper plates on these plates. With the rim on these, the paper plates should stay fine, and they will give solid support to the paper plates. My sets came in a nice cardboard box. I didn’t have any sticky stuff on mine anywhere, so the manufacturer must have reacted to the reviews of others that complained about that and found a better packaging option. I am extremely happy with these purchases, and I highly recommend them!

The "bronze-like patina" coating dissolved into our food during the first meal when it contacted tartar sauce. Whatever came off went directly into what we were eating. This is concerning because a true patina is the steel surface itself after heat treatment - it doesn't get removed by mild acids. Barebones describes this as "baked stainless steel rim with bronze-like patina appearance." The word "baked" suggests residue from their enamel firing process, and "appearance" admits it just looks like patina rather than being actual patina. Multiple other reviews report the same issue with the rim coating coming off during normal use. The company even admits on their website that the coating "can be stripped by acidic foods." A heat-treated stainless steel patina doesn't dissolve from condiments. If this coating comes off so easily, it could potentially be toxic manufacturing residue from the "baking" process that wasn't cleaned but marketed as a feature. It could be lead; it could be carbon; it could be cadmium; it could be rust; it could be all of the above; it could be something else entirely; it could be completely harmless. The concern is that we just don't know. I reached out to their customer service and am waiting to hear back.

I love that they are made in the USA! Very nice and lightweight. We use them when entertaining on the patio, because we don’t have to worry about breaking! Also bought the bowls for salad, nice and deep. I bought the dark gray ones, very pretty! 2 plates must have missed the glazing process, but the company quickly responded and shipped me 2 new ones. Great customer service!

So pretty but you can’t put them in the microwave. I didn’t think about that before I bought it all. However it’s nice to look at.

期待通りの素敵な色合いで大満足です。気持ち大きいかなとも思いますが、キャンプで使用するには用途が広がりとても良いサイズかと思いました。とにかくデザインが大好きです。
