Great for reducing phosphates
I’ve been using this product for years. Tried other things but always come back to Rowaphos. It’s perfect for the job.

Great product, great price.
Great price, fantastic product. Some tubs come with a filter media bag, some don't - if you haven't got one you'll need one. I change mine every 3 weeks and it keeps my phosphate levels at zero. Doesn't cloud or colour the water, doesn't harm the fish or corals

Ouch...expensive German engineering...
Yes horribly expensive and I'm not entirely convinced that I'm not buying old German coffee grounds which is what this stuff looks like. Anyway...I dosed this in a reactor, quite conservatively (about 3 inches for a 500l tank) and was expecting an overnight miracle. It was more subtle than that but it has stopped the expansion of the dreaded GHA in a marine tank. The effect was perhaps less marked than Phosguard but what I really liked is that there were no signs of corals being stressed. With phosguard I think the Alluminium has a detrimental effect on some corals. No signs of stress with Rowaphos, apart from me having to fork out £30...and it wasn't as messy as some claim, after adding to the reactor I purged a couple of litres into a bucket to get rid of the orange fines and then had the outlet in the sump going into a filter sock to catch the rest. I shouldn't have worried, there was no issue. So, it works and I have plenty left for next time. I also dosed another tank using a mesh bag in the filter section and that also worked a treat. Crazy expensive but I'm loving seeing the phosphates being sucked out of the rockwork...Yes...I like this stuff. It works extremely well and doesn't adversely affect corals...seeing the GHA shrink back every day is a joy! Be prepared to dose heavily and often at first to suck all the phosphate out of rockwork, and then once under control the phosphates are easily managed by small doses of Rowaphos. Big thumbs up from me!

RowaPhos review best thing out there
I swear I think I’ve tried everything out there to lower my phosphate cheap and expensive ones and still no difference but with RowaPhos it is the only thing to have lowered my phosphates by 5 ppm in just a few days I have put it in just a filter bag in my canister filter and internal one probably 4 times what I need but I had very high phosphate levels so it said that small amounts wouldn’t of worked. I’m very impressed will use this from now on it says once phosphate under control then just to leave a small amount in just to keep levels down but so glad I finally found something. Will recommend to anyone who keeps fish, it works wonders.

Very effective but tricky to contain in place
In one day this took my phosphate from off the scale (> 1.8ppm, I estimate 3ppm) to undetectable (< 0.01 ppm). The only problem is the granules are very fine like sand and fell straight out of my filter bags. I packed a layer between two layers of well packed filter wool and that seems to have held it.Two days later and my plants seem to be recovering well, virtually all the brown has gone and they're going a much healthier green.

Good expensive but clogs up
Ok it got the phosphate down but unfortunately it clogged my reactor so phosphate rose again think this is best used within a filter rather than a reactor Better off with aqua forest phosphate minus tumbles well in a reactor keeping the phosphate lower
