How does the sizing work for the diameter of the cable and the diameter of the ring. eg I have a cable of 6mm diameter and the ring 8mm diameter

A 6mm crimp will take a 6mm cable and a *mm ring will take a 10mm bolt

Can this be used to connect a subwoofer to the battery of the car along with the cable?

I have to tell you at the outset that I am no expert on vehicle electrics. I have experience of 12v systems out of necessity (rural at that time so no nearby expertese when needed!) so my first advice is, if you can, ask an expert! If that is physically impossible (I'm being serious) then yes, I would have a go at this assuming all wires are multi-filament only and you have an hydraulic crimping tool sized for these terminal lugs. I would ensure the sub-woofer lead is fused in-line as close to the terminal lug as reasonably practical. Also I would intertwine the two wires to reduce the liability for the smaller sub-woofer wire filaments to pull out accidentally. Next, check your sub-woofer can cope with 14.8 volts as the positive battery lead will be 'bringing in' charge from the alternator with up to this initially high voltage. Lastly, make sure you remember to protect this joint with the correct size of heat-shrink wrap (put that on right away from the vehicle!!). Hope this helps and I'll also refer you to the great Tony Brooks. Though he writes for the Canal Boat magazine now, he is legendary in the 12v field across all vehicular types and only recently retired from his teaching and training careers. Google 'tb training' for all his training notes! Good luck and 'fail it safe'!

The first no ie, 25 is the gage of wire or thickness and the second no is the length of the hole, so 12 mm
