Great all round film.
Kodak's latest and possibly last colour negative films this and Portra are a real class act. Very fine grain and good resolution together with huge dynamic range with competent technique and good scanning they are capable in MF of giving high quality enlargements of up to 36 inches. Smooth tonality and laid back colour which can be adjusted to taste are plus points. So find a reliable lab, scan on a good quality scanner (Epson 700 or better) and top quality is assured.

Great modern film, but can be tricky to use right
Great film and effectively grainless in medium format. This is a difficult film to work with though, it has a very low exposure latitude for a colour negative film with even slight under exposure leading to quite unpleasant colour shifts. Conversely over exposure can lead to things looking washed out – you really need to nail exposure. I find it very hard to work with in bright contrasty light (if you don't meter for your darkest shadows, forget it) but it works beautifully in flatter lighting conditions.

A good quality general purpose film with high definition.
Easy to use with good colour and definition. The gummed label closure is a bit naff though. These films seem quite expensive now to a seasoned photographer.

Excellent film.
Excellent film....used on old TLR camera and gives authentic colour. Excellent also when transferred to disc/PC for viewing or altering . Have used all 5 rolls and all pictures spot on. Also very good in tricky, contrasty metering conditions in bright sunlight.

I've been very pleased with the results when using this film in my old Yashica TLR camera; nice fine grain and saturated (but not garish) colours. In fact I was going to buy another pack of 5 rolls from Amazon (Kodak) (as usual) while placing an order for a 5 pack of black and white 120 roll film. However, I found I couldn't buy it... as it was reserved for AMAZON PRIME CUSTOMERS only! I'm sorry, but I have no intention of being 'coerced' into joining something by marketing ploys like that, so I have taken my money elsewhere! Sorry Amazon, but I don't think this is one of your brighter ideas for encouraging people to join 'Prime', you lost a £46 sale because of it and annoyed one of your regular customers into the bargain. Reserved for Prime customers indeed! eBay here I come!

Long live film!!
Regardless of what anyone says, film beats digital by far, particularly in medium format on a Rollei! This film is gorgeous. Long live film!!

Great detail and colour from this film

This is a really great film that has had a bad reputation for rendering bad skin tones foisted upon it by people who base their claims on cheap minilab scans rather than scans from a pro lab. Ektar gives great colors that jump off the paper when you print it, and its very sharp and contrasty. I've even taken some lovely portraits with this film, even though the blow-hards on internet forums like to pan it, claiming it makes skin look overly red. As with any high contrast film though, the photographer needs to make sure the light they are shooting in is good and not overly contrasty or harsh. Ektar can make colors pop and show the world in surreal beauty, but it cant fix bad lighting or an overly wide dynamic range in a scene. With that caveat in mind, shots made with this film in the morning and evening hours or in open shade will have great color, very very little grain, and if the photographer does their part to keep things sharp, the film will not let them down. If anyone from Kodak should read this short review: Please find a way to make this film in high speed flavors as well! An ultra-saturated, ultra-sharp and ultra-contrast slow version would be welcome too.
