Landmann Tripod Charcoal Barbecue

We had been using a gas barbecue for a few years because of the speed with which you could start cooking; it's instant, after all. But, let's face it, a gas barbecue is really just an outdoor grill, none of that smoky, charcoal taste that a real barbecue offers. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with this one. What a find! It heats quickly (we are able to put food on within 20mins or so), has a large grilling surface, and, above all, the flexibility given by the facility to move the grill as far or near to the coals as necessary means that the half a dozen times we've used it we've had all types of meats grilled to perfection, nothing burnt, nothing half-done, everything just right. Have done the usual: steak, chops, sausages, not blackened or frazzled! Then whole shoulders of lamb, and whole small individual chickens have been cooked perfectly, quick, slow, quick, just by moving the grill level up and down. Vegetable parcels, baked potatoes, corn - I cannot speak highly enough of this little invention. Its new take on ancient mechanisms gives it something of the medieval pit fire feeling and it is a great talking point when friends see it for the first time. I feel I can now give it rave reviews and you can order one, tout suite, as I've just placed my second order. Figure there can be a run on them once I have one on each side of the patio! If there is one small criticism it is that you have to remember that the grill is dangling and therefore moves around when you're turning the food over. It takes a little getting used to but you work out your own technique. I've noticed that there are several more of this style of barbecue on the market now but this is far and away the cheapest and excellent value for money. I am not usually an enthusiastic barbecuer - it all seems too much effort for the usually over- or under-done food it produces. But this little number has turned me into Barbecue Bob (remember,from Frasier?). If you like barbecues but don't like carbonised food go for this one. It's a great buy!

The media could not be loaded. Absolutely love this BBQ Charcoal tripod grill! Only took me 20-25 minutes to assemble. Everything as described. Low maintenance with high quality and modern design. Love the idea of height adjustable grill plate for an even grill. Its compact which perfect for camping too. Its versatile as you can use the grill plate on its own as a fire pit in the garden. As you can see from my picture, It fits my 1.5kg juicy Tomahawk steak steadily and was again to cook evenly (all thanks for the adjustable chain). Excellent value for money and I promise that you be disappointed.

Easy to put together and take a part but once you put the wing nuts on the triangle in the middle all very safe and sturdy. Take it with me every time I go camping wich is most weekend in the summer then the old day off session. Fantastic bit of kit

Arrived today and is exactly what I expected after reading through some reviews on here.Good points:- Pully and top section that the poles slot into seem sturdy.- Bolts were all of good quality.- Legs fitted well (no cross threads or stripped nuts or bolts as in other reviews, maybe this has been addressed?)- Triangle piece fitted well and makes it reasonably sturdy.- Comes apart easily and down to a small size for easily taking camping or similar.Not so good points:- As others have commented the enamelling on the fire pit is shoddy at best. Multiple touch-ups and some scratches not touched up at all. Holes for the bolts were already starting to rust.- Grill tray is a little flimsy, not to the point where it will buckle with normal use, lets called it value engineered to its minimum.- Three of the the grill bars have come apart from the circumference bar. I don't think this will cause a problem but any more could have been.Conclusion:For the price you can't really go wrong with this. As long as you aren't expecting premium quality what more could you want. Lets face it it's going to get knocked and scratched a little anyway and it will probably live outside too. Looks like it should last a couple of years.

I got this BBQ as a birthday present from my parents and i love it. It's really unusual which I like and I love that you can take away the tripod and use it as a fire pit. It's a lot more sociable that normal BBQs as people can sit round it and chat and sort out the food. I really like how you can lower and higher the grill so that food doesn't cook to quickly on the outside. I used it for my birthday BBQ and a great time was had and once we had gotten used to having to hold the grill with the tongs in one hand and flip the meat over with the other had, it was really good and a fun time had by all. I went to church in the evening and when I got home the coals were still warm so I put in some logs and sat in the garden with a glass of wine and toasting marshmallows and just relaxing. So happy that I got this BBQ! It is well made and looks good as well as doing a great job

We spend a lot of time barbecuing, what ever the weather and were really impressed with this. It is a little flimsy but well worth the money. The cooking area is big enough for a large family and we put a clay pot under the charcoal tray and placed a plate on it to use as a warming plate. It does take a while to get used to the movement but it cooks well and looks god in the garden.

I bought this because my parents bought a similar design in Germany (I cannot remember the brand). It lasted them about 8 years before the legs broke. The Landmann lasted me two BBQ before the grill fell apart (the welding melted). The whole concept works, and is easy to build and use. I really like it and would have kept it if the quality had not failed. Whether or not it was that one BBQ which was defective I don't know. It is a shame really as otherwise I have no problems with it.

Ero scettico ed invece il prodotto mi ha sorpreso buoni materiali e ben assemblato che danno idea che si possa mantenere nel tempo. Anche il bracere e la griglia sono abbastanza capienti e solidi, il braciere può essere usato da solo. Unica pecca una piccola dissaldatura della griglia ma niente di che...

Preis: Ok. Und Für Drei Parteien. Finde im Ordnung, Qualität halt sich länger und reicht für den Preis.

Muy buena compra, único detalle es que cambie los enganches de la parrilla con la cadena porque el sistema que viene se suelta, pero en conjunto todo muy bien

Ce barbecue est original, pour le prix il ne faut pas s'attendre à quelque chose d'incassable, mais si on ne le laisse dehors à l'abandon il n'y a pas de problème. Si on vire le trépied on peut faire griller des marshmallows entre potes, c'est toujours sympa . Les tubes du trépied sont très légers, j'ai lu dans un commentaire précédent que quelqu'un a coulé du béton à l'intérieur; c'est une bonne idée, personnellement j'ai mis du gravier pour pouvoir démonter les tubes au cas où.
