I'm buying this for a friend of mine who lives in NYC. I'm worried it will be stolen off his bike though... is this easily removed and stolen?

Yes, you have to remove it a half turn to pull it off to install batteries unplug the button rotated, 180° and stick it in your pocket unless that person gets mugged it won’t get stolen

Is it possible to get a longer cord? I want to mount it on my seat post facing backwards so I can alert cars coming up behind me.

No idea why Maurice Pinder would take the time to provide you with false information. “DB140 EXTRA LONG TRIGGER 150CM (5FT)” Hornit most certainly makes a longer trigger. You can easily purchase the item.

Is it easy to replace the batteries while the horn is mounted or does the horn need to be removed to get to battery compartment ?

Yes it is easy to replace the batteries. To change the batteries, unplug the thumb button wire, then turn the horn body 90 degrees (quick release) and lift off the handlebar bracket. Replace batteries, then reverse the above procedure. Re-Plug the thumb button wire. The horn works very well and load enough for people to hear you coming.

Unit works fine, but it sounds like there's a loose piece of plastic inside that rattles around when I shake the unit? Is that normal?

No! It should not sound like a rattle. If you are very concerned ask if you can return it for a replacement. Even if you are passed the return deadline, a reasonable company will allow for a replacement.

Selling at 3 Times The original price 👎

Product is Awesome, it is loud too . I would have given 5 star rating but giving 2 star rating because seller is selling it for 3 times the rate of original price. It is approx 2500 rs product but on Amazon it sold for 6300 rs which is just un believable. I have returned the product when I came to know about it . Good News : I bought the same product at discount price(2350rs) from the Local bicycle Dealer 😍. Before buying anything pls go through their original price. I would have kept the Product if it was sold at the original price 👍. Amazon, sorry to say but this time I was not satisfied with the purchase because of the over pricing of the product (around 3 times the original price).👎

Es un salva vida

Un espectáculo te salva la vida se escucha muy fuerte los coches paran y dan paso en las rotondas aun que sean con ventanas subidas. Lo recomiendo muchisimo esta hecho de materiales de calidad se puede montar y quitar fácilmente. Eso si si no lo montes permenente en el manillar la probabilidad que te lo rroban es muy alta asi que no hay que olvidar quitarla cuando guardes la bici en la calle

Facile à installer et très bruyant

Je n'ai pas eu de difficulté à l'installer. Le mode d'emploi était clair d'en mes souvenir. Après plusieurs mois d'usage, rien à signaler d'alarmant. Dommage que qu'on ne peut pas gérer le volume car c'est vraiment fort fort bruyant même pour le cycliste.

OMG that is LOUD!!! So bought one for myself too!

Purchased for my wife a few days ago and received it today. Tried it out with a couple blasts on each setting. this is incredibly loud...so much louder than any of the video reviews shows it to be. Louder than we thought it would be...VERY VERY LOUD!!! We are talking seriously loud. (you got my point by now I'm sure). Great for mountain biking to scare any bears off the trail and great for a touring bike or road bike to alert vehicles that they are about to cut you off and loud enough to make any charging dog turn tail and run. I would say it's as loud or louder as the Airzound Horn I've had for a few years. So I just purchased one of these Hornits for my road bike. My new goal in life is to get every cyclist I know to get a Hornit db140 horn.
