It's a great set of minerals for kids. Stones are not too small, good range, good additions to make a necklace etc. The magnifier glass could be better

This was a Christmas gift for our 9 year old grandaughter who painstakingly discovered all the gems in one sitting. She very much enjoyed it. Our 6 year old Grandson also had one gifted to him at Christmas and he too thoroughly enjoyed seeking out all the gems. Both have displayed the gems with the stands provided. We felt this is a good quality kit with educational value as well as a fun activity which was absorbing and not a 5 minute wonder. Thank you.

My kids are fascinated with gemstones, rocks and fossils and love learning about them. This kids set features a nice collection of various rocks with an informative booklet detailing each and giving a little introduction to geology. There's also a poster included, as well as a mini magnifying glass and an accessories pack - this contains string for making necklaces and display pendants ( although we found most of the rocks are too big to put in these). My 2 daughters (8 and 13 years) loved going through this set. They've been collecting rocks and fossils with their dad for a few years and these made nice additions to their collection. I'll be honest, the rocks aren't as vivid in colour as the ones on the listing photo, but I'm not entirely sure they should be - those colours don't look very realistic. Some of them do look lovely when held up to the light though. Overall it's a good educational kit for kids, especially those who love delving into geology.

Great package and stones.

My nephew loves his fossils and his digging and even archaeology - he has a fascination with Egyptology which must have come from his school, which is great to hear. Anyway, this set of rocks seemed like something that would be useful in his education of geology.It does just that, but, everything inside isn't great quality. The plastic tray labelling them is similar to the trays you may get cupcakes in. It seems exceptionally weak and will break sooner rather than later. The stones themselves are, not great either, colours being exceptionally dull and nothing like the photos, but that's marketing for you.The magnifying glass is rubbish quality, you probably get similar in Christmas crackers, but the string and pendants used for making necklaces is a nice feature if I am honest. That said, most rocks were too big to fit into a pendant, so be prepared for that. The booklet is helpful in giving a snippet of information about the rocks and as a taster into the field of geology, and it is educational, which is where this set's strength lies.The nephew took some interest in the set, but it has since been pushed into the corner of a room, but the book does get a viewing sometimes.Overall it isn't that bad, it's just not good either, which is a shame, as it could have been decent.

The media could not be loaded. This rock discovery set is lovely. It is well presented and the gemstones included are a good size, all co pretty different and well labeled. It comes with a nicely printed booklet where you can learn about each rock, a magnifying glass and a necklace/key ring set. Would make a lovely gift for kids.

The gems appear genuine and look very nice. Some rough cuts and some polished. It comes with a nice information booklet to help children learn about the different stones. You can hang some in a necklace and a keyring too which is a nice addition.I would recommend.

I got this for my friends 8 year old daughter for her birthday and she enjoyed it. It’s like a brick that you mine the rocks out of which I didn’t really get the impression of from the photos.
