The Silverline Door Stop Security Alarm is such a clever little device and it’s incredibly easy to use. It works exactly as described, and gives so much extra peace of mind. All you do is pop in the battery, place it behind the door, and it’s ready to go. No complicated setup at all. It’s really sturdy but sensitive enough to trigger as soon as any pressure is applied to the door, and when it goes off… it is SO loud (in the best way!) exactly what you want from an alarm. The sound is piercing and attention-grabbing, which makes it ideal for deterring anyone trying to open the door unexpectedly. It fits just like any other door stop (I was initially worried it would be too bulky), and the battery life seems good so far. Such a simple yet effective bit of security kit. It's lightweight enough to take when travelling too. I’m really impressed and would 100% recommend it for that extra layer of safety.

I bought two of these door stop alarms primarily since the missus is somehow uncomfortable being alone in our second home abroad. So I ordered two of these ‘guards’ one for the front and back door each. It’s a pretty simple electronic product that has been around for decades - my parents used to have a very similar door stop alarm in the 1980’s, made of plastic and thin metal. But it works well. That is, it will sound the alarm. And it will perhaps cause some small additional obstacle to open a door. It’s reasonably sturdy. But somebody using force will still be able to open any door with such a stopper behind it. Either way, my wife feels much more at ease. And compared to investing 10x more for a half-decent alarm system I would say its good value for money. It does require a 9V battery. Now, since I had these lying around my daughter has put them to use to guard her bedroom. She is suffering quite a bit from a little sweets-snatcher (her younger brother). That tends to sneak into her bedroom, browse through her stuff and help himself to her sweets. The Very loud alarm already gave him a few scares during his frequent raids and might lead him to give up his despicable efforts. So except for the little looter, most are happy and pleased with this door stop alarm.

Unfortunately these don’t work on the external doors I had hoped to use them on as my UPVC doors are in a frame and not flush with the floor. However I have tried them out on some internal doors and they are perfect. So easy to use with a really loud sound so I am hanging onto them for when I stay in a a hotel. Really great value too.

Bought this as we have had a few break ins recently, got it, tried it, and very impressed for the price. I posted a few comments on our local neighbour site, so far, quite a few people have now bought this, with over 100 comments, all of which were positive. Easy, cheap and would act as a great deterrent. Can't fault it, except might have been better supplied with battery for which I had to travel a couple of miles there and back.

Bought it for travel and hotel rooms. Depending on the doors sometime has not managed to fit. But works beautifully when it does, loud alarm if door opened. I didn’t know about the batteries it needed, so took it without them on holiday, which was an epic fail.

You need these for safety it is so good

Mit 120 dB ist dieser Tür-Alarm-Stopper sein Geld wert. Er ist vom Keller bis ins Erdgeschoß (Einfamilienhaus) tagsüber auf jeden Fall hörbar. Ich bin mir sicher, daß wenn er nachts (wenn alles ruhig ist) angeht, er doch einige Meter weit zu hören ist. Ich würde diesen Artikel wieder bestellen.

Il mio non funziona ma era un usato quindi può non essere colpa del prodotto, magari l'hanno rotto le persone che l'hanno preso prima di me. Consiglio di prenderlo usato solo se avete la possibilità di fare il reso nel caso non funzioni. Quando lo comprate assicuratevi di avere le batterie adatte (non è un formato dei più comuni).
