Zippo Pipe Lighter - Brushed Chrome 200PL

I am reviewing this lighter vs the VVAY pipe lighter I bought from Amazon previously. I will cut/paste same review for both lighters (VVAY vs Zipo, scores in that order) Skill required 5* vs 3* VVay is just a normal lighter, easy to use. Zipo has a learning curve, but it is worth the effort Safety 5* vs 1*. The VVAY is inherently safe, the Zipo uses petrol (not paraffin or something less volatile) and needs v v careful handling. I now know to leave it to stand as after refill as 1st time it covered itself and my hand in flames ! Aroma 1* vs 5* the same petrol smells wonderful Ease of use 4* vs 2* VVAY is a simple 1 handed press, Zipo needs 2 hands Tactile feel 1* vs 5*. Just can't beat the Zipo here. The magic "click" really is magic ! Lighting ability - score draw. VVAY is perfect but zipo better in wind Cost identical - both unit cost and fuel Practicality depends on how you smoke . Me - only at home, but if you take a pipe everywhere then the VVAY saves another tool in your pocket, although its small fuel tank could be an issue ? Conclusion - The Zipo is just fantastic to hold (and play with !). It's the one I use nearly all the time. Let's be honest - how many pipe smokers don't like tactile !?!?

Lovely wee lighter. Very stylish. Click, flame, pipe lit, indoors or out in the wind. Pipe emblazoned on corner. Impresses folk. Practical. Indestructible. Value for money. Lifetime zippo free repair if somehow it malfunctions. You will need to reorganise the wick and cotton, as it comes in a bit of a mess. Put some love into it, an it's a great bit of kit. This one has the pipe chimney, and a wee hole in the top. You can also get pipe chimney and open top. Love this thing.

I don;t know if it's me or the lighter, but the fuel consumes very quickly... I have to charge it almost every week, which is a bit annoying. Nonetheless, a good product.

Great for pipe smokers. Besides the side flame, not much to say but that it's a proper Zippo, has all the great things about a Zippo. Only downside (as with any Zippo) being that it requires regular maintenance (adding fluid, changing the stone, etc). Hearing the characteristic click every time, having a reliable side flame, and looking cool lightning your pipe with a proper lighter is well worth all the maintenance required.

Good lighter but not perfect takes a lot of effort to light a pipe you’re better off using a clipper long nose lighter that only costs £2

I bought these Lighters because they were cheaper than the insert alone.the insert was what I really wanted. The Brushed Chrome Case looks good, the insert works extremely well for a Pipe Smoker and I am pleased with my purchases. I would also like to add that the delivery to Spain from UK was much faster than normal mail. The prices at Amazon were also pretty good compared to my local shops.

Awesome copy of the Zippo fliptop lighter of years ago. Unlike modern lighters these are build to a standard of decades ago and you do need to understand that these things do not go out if dropped. Also, the brain needs to be engaged When filling them up. You fill up the lighter over the sink, only idiots do it anywhere else. Walk away from the lighter for five minutes and DO NOT USE IT UNTIL YOU HAVE WASHED YOUR HANDS. I also had to rate the lighter for flavour. The flavour was a bit of a letdown though, it had a taste slightly Squirrel dungish. It's an excellent petrol pipe lighter, but only if you have the brains for it, or if you refrain from licking it.

I have never had a Zippo lighter that failed me. This is the second lighter I have purchased - it being a standard flame version. The beauty of these products is the ability to replace consumables, such as the wick and flint with easy for a life time of use.

Good for pipe smoking

It looks and feels very strong with a great decal. Also, did at first it was so strong but then worked like a champ. Finally, no problems and I expect this to be a keeper.
