Rothenberger 30954 Roofers Propane Torch Kit with 5m Hose, Multi-Colour

Brilliant but ......... I bought the torch kit primarily for burning weeds on the large gravel parking area in front of the house. Previously I have been using a simple weed burner with a butane gas canister on the end (very slow and the canisters only last a short time) and before that spraying with chemicals (not happy doing this with 2 dogs). The Rothenberger Torch is easy to connect to a propane cylinder (regulator required) and is very easy to light. It is so much more powerful and therefore more efficient at burning weeds and is a joy to use. So why the "BUT"? This torch is a serious bit of kit and I would urge users to obey all safety instructions. It would be quite easy for instance to set a fence alight especially if used in windy conditions. However, as long as reasonable care and good sense prevail there should be no problems. If other prospective buyers consider purchasing this burner for weeds make sure your gravel isn't lying on a plastic liner otherwise......... To summarise this is an excellent well made product that I can thoroughly recommend for weed control on gravel driveways.

Wow this thing is a real boys toy! I wanted something to light a basket of charcoal briquettes for a BBQ smoker which previously took 20+ mins and was pretty messy. With this little beauty I can blast the briquettes into life in 30-40 seconds. I am chuffed to bits. As a tool though, it performs well. You can crack open the cylinder valve and then the regulator valve and you get a small amount of gas coming through which you can take your time to light as its not so much that you have to panic to light to avoid a big bang. Once lit, it idles happily uses hardly any gas and when resting on the little foot/bracket that is supplied with it (you fix it on with a couple of screws) it is nicely able to be isolated from you until its needed. When you want it to do its core job, just pull the large trigger lever and you get a good solid jet of flame. I managed to put it out a couple of times as I held it too close to the charcoal and suffocated it but when used as intended, great tool. Gets 5 stars from me

I bought this for weed burning. It’s brilliant. However, there are other bits that you need if it’s ’sort the weeds’ once a month that you want. I bought a 6kg propane gas bottle/gas £80. You need the Regulator they recommend to attach the hose to the bottle. It cost £11 and I bought it from Amazon at the same time. I also bought the ‘sparker’ but a long lighter from Asda does the job better. It’s a brilliant bit of kit. Typical German build quality. If you accept that what you really need will double your cost outlay, it is definitely the one to buy.

Well i was tempted by the offer of cheaper alternatives, but i stuck with Rothenberger, its quality made and will get the job done.

I used this for weeds growing through gravel . It took me a long time which I thought was fine until within a week the weeds were back !! I also feel it uses a lot of gas given the result so not as environmentally friendly perhaps. I will keep trying but cost wise and efectiveness it's not quite making it seem like a good buy.

...actually a lot more than 5 mins (but its a catchy headline) I got it as a weed burner - and boy what a great job it does. I weeded my driveway in under 2 hours. Normally this would have taken weeks by hand and the results would have been disappointing. Best to keep the water hose primed and ready just in case - this does seem to be a powerful bit of kit so use with caution. I bought the burner - an additional gas bottle valve and then had to pay to rent a gas bottle and pay for the gas. All told - you will need about £100 to start using it - but if you already have the accessories its £32 for the torch.

Le robinet de réglage permet de régler à la fois le débit de base et la puissance max quand on serre la gâchette. A évaluer dans le temps mais pour le moment, très efficace.

Absolut zufrieden und dank der Flammenregelung hat man die Flamme gut im Griff. Nutze es zu 99% zum Unkraut vernichten und freue mich schon wieder auf den nächsten Einsatz!

Der Abwärmebrenner kam sehr gut verpackt an, beim montieren merkte ich dass eines der Gewinde am Schlauch nicht aufgebohrt war, daher ging es leider wieder zurück. Der Ersatz kam schnell und sehr unkompliziert! Dieser hat gut funktioniert und ist qualitativ hochwertig. Ich arbeite sehr gerne damit. Jederzeit würde ich mir dieses Gerät wieder kaufen, es spart sehr viel Zeit und man hat viele Möglichkeiten damit!
