The picture doesn't do it justice - this product is beautifully packaged and an absolute pleasure to use. Seriously, it's worth buying for the packaging alone. I would buy this as a gift for someone who is into design, it's that good. And the incense itself is excellent - lovely clean sandalwood scent, not smoky or overpowering. It's more subtle than Indian incense and doesn't fill the room with smoke. You can tell it's good quality, it doesn't have that nasty synthetic perfume smell like some incense I've tried. And you get loads of it, 300 sticks. Bargain! I've paid £6 for 20 incense sticks before - never again. If you burn incense, you should definitely try this, it's great.

I must agree with the other reviewer who could not understand why the one star review... This incense is very delicate and rather subtle, so even if you do not like the fragrance (which I could understand) it is very unlikely that you could say that 'it stinks'. I discovered this incense over twenty years ago, through a japanese friend while teaching in China for a year. For many years after returning to Europe, I looked for it everywhere, remembering the name as 'shoran koh'[does anyone know if it ever was called this?] and I tried many many many many other incense sticks, in the hope of finding an alternative. I am very sensitive to smells, I suffered from sinusitis and rhinitis for many years; I react really badly to any other incense! So I have tended to only use essential oils with an oil burner. This incense however, I can have burning in the room where I am without any problem. The fragrance I find, helps calm the mind - I love it and recommend it highly. I am so glad I can buy it so easily. through Amazon nowadays!

Arrived within two days of ordering which was brilliant. They came nicely packaged in a lovely little yellow box. I haven't really much experience of incense but after buying some cheap incense from a local shop which essentially just smelt like a stick on fire, I browsed internet sites for recommendations and sandalwood seemed to be popular. The fragrance is quite light and very calming and the sticks don't smoke excessively unlike cheaper brands. That said, this product is fantastic value for money. I would highly recommend.

Don't believe the description of "Quality Japanese incense" and "Sweet floral base", this offered nothing of the sort. What I got for my expectant anticipation after believing all the positive reviews was "essence of bonfire" and far from "With little smoke" ... I got a lot!! If this is truly what goes for "quality Japanese incense" then I'm heading back to India!! You. Have. Been. Warned!

Absolutely Love these and agree with other comments, as soon as you open the box you get a whiff of such a beautiful sandalwood aroma, they are far superior to the smoky overbearing, burning wood smelling sticks you find around that are cheap. Lovely Clean scent that lingers, very little smoke. Yes they are small they are fragile, but I put mine on 30 minutes ago and they still have a third to burn, so they do last. I won't be looking any further for incense as these are by far the best Sandalwood sticks on the market. Gorgeous !

Product arrived on the earliest date predicted by Seller/Amazon. well packaged, and good quality. i've noticed some bad reviews regarding the aroma; i volunteered at the local Buddhist centre for about a year, and became familiar with numerous types & brands of incense. this one is exactly what i would expect for Sandalwood & smells the same as pretty much every other brand i came across. the sticks burn evenly, and while they do produce some smoke personally i don't find it a problem. good value for money; 300 sticks for a little over £10 is great compared with the cost of other brands. would recommend.

This incense arrived within two days of the order. It was carefully packaged and well presented. I started burning incense in the 1970s; Sandalwood being my favourite scent. I have purchased many different kinds of incense but this was my first exposure to Japanese incense and I was delighted by the experience. The sticks of incense are 14cms long. I did not time how long they burn for but it was long enough and the scent remained long after they stoppped burning. The scent is more subtle than Indian varieties, and there is less smoke, but the whole house was soon permeated by the warm gentle scent. I recommend it highly, and I will certainly buy it again.

J'utilise cet encens depuis plusieurs années. Comme son nom l'indique "mainichi koh" (encens de chaque jour), cet encens est l'encens traditionnel utilisé par les japonais depuis plus d'un siècle. Il sent très bon avec une ambiance plutôt boisée et parfume la maison pour longtemps sans pour autant être écœurant contrairement aux encens indiens de mauvaise facture que lon trouve sur le marché. Les ingrédients de cette encens sont naturels et de bonne qualité, mis au point par Nippon Kodo, la fameuse marque japonaise d'encens. Pour une utilisation quotidienne, la boite de 300 vous durera au moins entre 6 et 10 mois.

No huele fuerte, es un olor delicado que no molesta. Ideal para usarlo cuando hago Zazen. Uso 1 al día así que es estupendo este estuche de 300 unidades.

These are good quality Japanese incense. I have been using them (amongst others from Nippon Kodo) for a number of years. My favourite is the Morningstar sandalwood, however, these are just as good. It gives you a relaxing scent without being too smoky.
